Good quality and performance . Our IT department was in the market for an affordable 8GB flash drive and our specifications were:
Speed
Build Quality
Swivel design
This product has all of the above. The data transfer rate is better than cheaper models on the market so it's worth the extra money. The build quality is quite good and I can see it lasting a long time. We hate flash drives with caps as they are easily lost and we didn't care for push tab models like the Kingston DataTraveler 100 because they are hard to extract/retract. This flash drive also comes with built in software that can password protect your data, it's a nice feature to have.

Kingston DataTraveler 410 - 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive DT410/8GB (Black) Opinions
Good drive but a little bit slow and userability maybe hendered . UPDATE:
The drive died yesterday after only 9 weeks of use. I contacted Kingston and they replaced the drive. From what I have read on reviews from the internet, the issue that I found has not been reported. The problem that I saw was that the drive was not reconized when I turned on the system. I continued to get the message indicating to access this drive, the disc needs to be formatted. I knew then that something was up. So I contacted Kingston, explained to the tech and was given a new USB flash drive.
Recommendations: Backup, backup, backup and do another backup after that.

First impression:
The transfer rate was about 3.45MB/second while copying files from an esata drive to this new 16GB drive. It took about 20 minutes to copy 3.15GB of data to the drive. I think that is a tab bit slow. However, I gave 4 stars because it is a Kingston memory product and I have had good experiences with Kingston in the past.
Final note:
I wished that the swinging arm could be detached easier than using an Allen wrench to remove the cover. Actually, the cover is only for looks, because it does not protect against dust and the little fibers that are in your pants pocket. Even if you took the swinging cover off, the old caps from other USB flash drives do not fit. So it looks like there is a job for molding a rubber cap coming up. Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that it looks like a durable drive, no doubt, but usability has it limits. I hope I have been able to help in your decision to buy or not.
One more thought:
You may want to wait for the 16GB drive that boast to to be just as fast as this drive and at the same time, having a cap on the end is better, in my opinion. Well, you may differ with me and that is okay... I am just giving my two cents.

Kingston Data Traveler Does . Swing-Design works well....no push-pull hang-ups anymore. Data transfer speed appears to be appropriate...especially with large photo files. No difficulties in first two-months of use.
Nice jump drive . I bought this for work. I love that the top swivels so I don't ever have to worry about losing its cap.
good price great quality . Usb device quality and good price. The metal base does not feel secure about the rest of the structure, but that does not alter the functioning and performance. Recomended. Never the kingston mini DT 410 :S
Solid Drive No Problems So Far . Bought two of these as jump drives that I could throw into my bag without a second thought. So far they have worked quite well, no caps to loose either (a big plus). While they probably won't win any awards for speed, they are a nice capacity for a nice price. Enough said.
Excellent Kingston Datatraveler. . Excellent Kingston Datatraveler 410 - 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive. Are elegant and super fast. The program to protect files is quite functional. Rate of transfer of files to other characteristics pendrive is significant. Other word I have to define them as "excellent". Very happy with this purchase.
Worth the cost . One of the best ones i have ever had.
True to what it claims claims, the reading/writing speed is faster as compared to regular drives.
Loved the product.

Cons Review
Lost data twice tossed in the trash . After using the Data Traveler 410 for a couple of weeks, some of the data became corrupted. Luckily I was able to save most of my data to a hard drive. I then reformatted the Data Traveler, and began using it cautiously. Now again, a couple of months later, all the data on the drive is corrupted. I tossed the unit in the trash. Who needs a secure device that's going to destroy your data.
