Ironkey 8GB S200 Basic USB 2.0 Flash Drive D2-S200-S08-2FIPS USB Flash Drives
This review is from : Personal S200 8G
Excellent high security flash drive . I already own a 4GB model of this product and liked it so much decided to add the 8GB model for even more capacity.
I love the high security of hardware encryption, protective self destruct feature, VPN capable net use, both local and online backup and the built in password and login software.
I use this with my laptop when traveling for top security.
I keep all my personal data such as passwords, documents and even favorites on my flash to use with my laptop so if the laptop gets stolen they don't also get access to my important data.
The secure VPN online capability means I can safely use the laptop at motels and other free, but very unsecure wifi places as well as any shared computer without waiving my security and data protection.
Love this flash.

Personal S200 8G Reviews
Well made secure and feature rich . We bought the Ironkey S200 2G version, but thought this review might help all Ironkey buyers.
Obviously this device is not inexpensive, but if you want added security then this is the best. The key is very easy to use; because the key will self-destruct after only 10 failed attempts a password of moderate strength is all that is required. The on-board Identity Manager is a very good App, but did not transfer all of my passwords from Roboform, which I highly recommend. I installed Roboform2Go. Roboform2Go is resident on the key, it produces random passwords and has its own encryption, giving 2 layers of encryption for passwords and safenotes, another great feature. Would have given the Ironkey 5 stars if the included Identity Manager worked better.
The on-board version of Firefox is not only more secure, but with a password manager everything needed to more safely do business on the web is always available. All of this still leaves plenty of room to store sensitive financial and personal identity documents and information. And all of this is unavailable as soon as the key is locked and removed from the computer.
Finally a portable and secure password keeper, document vault, and browser.
BTW, also recommend adding the BetterPrivacy add-on to help keep the key clean. BetterPrivacy removes LSO's (Local Shared Objects); LSO's are very similar to cookies, but are not removed by Firefox.
From Wikipedia:
"LSOs can be used by web sites to collect information on how people navigate those web sites even if people believe they've restricted the data collection.[4] More than half of the internet's top websites use LSOs to track users and store information about them.[5] There is relatively little public awareness of LSOs, and they can usually not be deleted by the cookie privacy controls in a web browser.[5] This may lead a web user to believe a computer is cleared of tracking objects, when it is not.[5]"
Update:
First, Ironkey support is great! After backing up my Ironkey, I attempted to update the device; this caused an irreparable error. Called support, after looking for info in forums, and they requested a copy of my receipt, sent them a copy, an RMA was approved in a couple of days, and a replacement arrived a few days after that, all very quick and painless. They even followed up to ensure everything was OK. They assured me that their engineers had resolved the issue and there would be no problem with future updates.
The new device was initiated and the encrypted backup was restored without a problem to the new Ironkey. Within a few weeks another update became available, after backing up again, I went ahead with the new update, and, much to my relief, the update went smoothly!
Many thanks to Ironkey, Ironkey support, and their engineers. This is a great product and the company understands that in the end, support is how a customer base is retained and expanded!

Personal S200 8G Opinions
Best USB flash drive . I carry this drive on my keychain with me everywhere. I use it at work & at home. This drive is one of the most durable & rugged thumb drives available. This "S" series product utilizes SLC (single level cell) flash media which is more reliable & has a longer life cycle than MLC (multi level cell) flash media used in the "D" series Ironkey products. Each of the two models have their advantages: D series has higher storage capacity at a lower cost while S series has faster read / write rates as well as a longer life cycle. The S200 is built using high quality components which include the unique "crypto-chip", dual SLC flash chips (dual channel) and an aluminum case with laser etched Ironkey logo.
I purchased the S200 Personal drive which includes Ironkey's identity manager. ID Manager stores logins & passwords to websites. There is also an onboard version of Firefox which saves all cookies, data & web history on the Ironkey to ensure private browsing on public or shared computers. There is also a "Secure Session" service integrated into Firefox to route you through a number of proxy servers to triple encrypt web browsing. This feature is extremely useful when conducting online banking or credit monitoring over an unsecured wifi connection. I use these privacy features every day & my Ironkey goes everywhere I do.
Ironkey is easily the best & most feature rich USB thumb drive on the market. This product is not cheap, but I feel the Personal drive's privacy enhancing features combined with top grade materials justify the cost. I would recommend this product to anyone. Just be sure to research the different types of Ironkeys before you buy one (D or S Series: Basic, Personal & Enterprise).

Most secure USB flash drive available . I totally love this product. I don't mind paying the high price if I get a well made product that delivers and this one definitely does. However, it takes time to setup and learn the features, so it is primarily recommended for those who really need to transport sensitive data securely. The S model comes with Mozilla and Identity Manager which make for safer internet use; I would not shop online or use online banking without it. The built in virtual keyboard is great if you are worried about keystroke logging. I'm still trying to learn how to get it to sign into sites with multiple logon screens. I recommend the user forum if you want to learn more about it.
Great tool for securing data . If you are paranoid the IronKeys are the way to go. FIPS 140-3 certified and a slew of other crazy security acronyms mean that it has really been looked at as far as security is concerned. The unit is pretty fast and I really appreciate how well the unit is built. The included password program is cool, but I personally prefer using Keepass which is free because it works on Linux and Windows which is important for me. With Keepass I am able to store all my passwords to websites and make them easily and securely accessible. This allows me to use 20 character passwords that are different for every site. Only drawback is price, but you need to expect that when you are buying a military grade piece of equipment.
I use it ten times a day . Looking for this for years. Automatically logs you in to every site that you need a password for. Saves tons of time. I used to keep a large vulnerable text file of passwords. Ironkey is fast secure and easy to use. I keep one plugged in to my pc at work and at home. They can be synchronized. Security matched with portability is a rare beast. They are waterproof and uncrackable. Easily switched on and off. Secure encrypted backup. 8GB may be overkill but nice to have the capacity just in case I want it. My 2Gb isn't even 10% full as I use them mainly for password management.
IronKey . This usb thumb drive is well worth the money. Thinking about buying another larger one. And great shipping with Amazon.com
Excellent Product . Excellent, easy to use product. I really like that all of the software is self-contained on the drive - nothing is installed on your computer.
Cons Review
Secure Browsing Feature is a Sham . if your main concern is the security of your usb drive's files, then the ironkey should satisfy your needs. however, if anonymous internet browsing via the secure sessions feature is what you are mainly after (as i was), forget this product and look elsewhere. secure sessions is extremely buggy and, more often than not, it stops working after 5-10 minutes. when it stops working, the "fix" supplied by ironkey involves:
first, closing firefox, then, disabling secure sessions through the ironkey control panel, then, deleting certain hidden files on the drive, then, locking the drive, then, unlocking the drive (which requires re-entering your password), then, re-enabling secure sessions through the ironkey control panel, and, finally, re-starting firefox.
this tedious 5-10 minute process will usually get you about another 5-10 minutes of secure browsing before secure sessions stops working again. after going through this numerous times, i just gave up and stopped using secure sessions all together. it is too unstable and unpredictable.
to be fair, there were occasionally days in which secure sessions worked for many hours without a hitch, but these days were the rare exception rather than the rule. furthermore, ironkey support was totally useless in remedying this problem. they are aware of the problem, but, aside from the laborious fix described above, they were -- and still are (after 6+ months and two updates) -- dumbfounded by it.
i was extremely disappointed with this product and, in hindsight, wish i'd saved the $$$ and just bought a subscription, for far less money, to any one of the numerous other available proxy services (that work!).

Could benefit from changes to engineering marketing and support. . Password form filling works. It does not support financial institutions which use 3 or more screens. I've had to disable Verisign VIP tokens as it is not compatible with Windows 7.
The end cap weighs more than most USB keys. They might want to add a lanyard to tether the end cap to the drive.
Support and lack of updates is horrible; it's like they ran out of money.
Full support works on Windows only.
Basic Mac, Windows and Linux support.
There is no Service Level Agreement on how to delete your passwords on their servers, and there is no present way to access your passwords from a web-browser if your device is lost.
Bug:
Firefox Identity Manager title bar icon disappears.
Bug:
Ironkey Control Panel fails to start a new process with a "Quota" error if *Free* memory is near 0 MB even if *Available* memory is 2000-4000 MB.
Update:
Their support people "opt-out" close tickets without asking if an issue has been resolved.
Update:
Software update went from 2.0.2.2 to 2.0.4.1. No issues resolved.
Update (3/9/2010):
On any computer, even a new computer out of the box: Identity Manager is in a state (on the device) which prevents Ironkey control panel from unlocking (error codes E8010043, E801005C). The "copy \Windows to desktop and delete IKM*.*" trick gets you in, but not in a way which can fix the device or recover your passwords. Already updated to 2.0.4.1 and contacted IK support. We'll see what excuses their magic 8 ball comes up with this time.
