Great case but needs one little modification . This enclosure is terrific! It's also the lowest cost case with a cooling fan. I am running a 750GB SATA HDD in it which I use for bulk transfers and backing up machines while upgrading. It gets a lot of use. So far I have only used the USB connection since the machines that I am upgrading are older and don't have eSATA. ONE SUGGESTION: If you run with the rear cover on you'll notice that even though it has a fan it does get warm to the touch. Leaving the back panel off or half off keeps it very cool. I took my rear cover off and drilled a line of 1/4" holes right where the air vent is to give it a less restrictive path for breathing. Now runs cool even while backing up 320 GB non-stop. I am one very satisfied customer but I did give it 4 stars because of the back panel.

Excellent construction but some drives are a tight fit . I like this Enclosure a lot. I've had one running for about 3 months now and I'm about to buy a second one so I can swap them out and use the same power supply.

The case is very compact and has sufficient power supply and cooling to run a 10,000 rpm SATA HD. It's all-aluminum tongue-in-groove construction with two that's very solid and well-constructed. BUT - by the same token it was a VERY tight fit for the 10,000 rpm drive because of the extra-heavy heat sink, so you have to take some extra time gently pushing it together or you'll pinch the wires. I was able to get it together eventually it just took a few tries and a lot of care. The fan keeps the unit pretty cool. The exit-air temperature is well below specs.

I'm buying a second one, so I think it's a great deal for the price.

Cons Review

HARD DRIVE KILLER! . The plug popped the first time I plugged it in, and the internals sizzled. I immediately smelled electrical fire. Took out the HD I'd installed, plugged it back into my desktop, and it was dead. The manufacturers tech support form on their website doesnt work, and when I emailed them directly my email was rejected as spam! They offered to replace the unit at my cost to ship back... as if I'd trust another $180 HD in one of their units.
