Don't be fooled... . About the knockoffs being the same... the difference between the real one and the knockoff that *I* have at least is the "Desktop Defender" program that the real one has. A little Ravage will appear on your screen and wander around and eat icons, and other things.
The KO, however, typically goes for only about 10-ish bucks on ebay when sold auction-style. It's a good compromise if you don't have the 50-ish bucks for the real one.
However, I don't recommend getting the KO if it's being sold for the same price as the real one. Not only is there the loss of a truly awesome feature, but it's the quality you've got to worry about when it comes to any knockoff. After a few months of usage and play, will it be broken? Will the paint have worn off?

From a fan's perspective! . C. Burton "M.R.CAB," thanks for the heads up. I am going to give an honest opinion from a fan's perspective. I have both the so called "knock off" and "Real" versions. I am very pleased to say that they both work exactly the same. The flash drive works very well and they both transform. Having been a fan of the Transformers cartoon show since it first came out back in the eighties, I was soooo glad that someone decided to bring this character back. Whether it is a knock off or real it did not matter to me. Personally, I'd prefer the "kock off" version because it has 4GB. Hope this helps!

transformer USB drive . Shipping was really quick. And although it was packaged small, there was multiple layers to protect it.
No instructions come for transforming it so you better pretend you are a kid again and just figure it out. I haven't actually used the USB yet, but it is fun transforming it and it looks great on the computer desk

Great Gadget for the Transfomers lover. . I got this for my mom's bf (he loves transformers) and he really liked it. No problems yet! PS ther are other sites selling the SAME EXACT USB for double if not triple what amazon's price is. Great buy!
Fun . Great USB Flash drive. It was fun to play with but be careful with it. The joints are a little fragile. But it is cool to have.
Nice display piece horrible memory card . It's a nice display piece but if you actually want a working memory card find something else.Our friend bought this for us to send pictures and such back and forth the first one he ordered,he could not get to copy the files he sent it back and got the one we have now most of the files he put on it ended up corrupted by the time we got it;But we do enjoy it as a decepticon transformer toy.
Teenager Loves It! . I ordered this USB for my daughter for school. All of her friends "Oooed" and "Ahhhed" over it *PLUS* it actually saves her homework information! (that's the part that I was most concerened with!)
Cons Review
WARNING!!! --know what you are buying . Just to let people know, this item is actually a knockoff of the real thing, which only came in 2GB form. The first picture is that of the REAL one and the second two are the knockoffs(as of 4/24/2010). Please do an internet search and know what you are getting! The real one has metal parts on it's legs, and the knockoff has white plastic, and this particular one is almost twice the size of the real Ravage and doesn't look as nearly as good.(the real one is a bit hard to find at the moment, and all these knockoffs are flooding pages like this and eBay)
Mixed reviews . PROS. This knock off has 2 more GB than original (4 v 2 GB). It's cheaper - less than half the price of the original. Hard to justify $30-$50 for the original 2GB usb drive. Knock off still satisfies sentimental value of a favorite Transformer character. Nobody will know the difference. CONS. Lesser craftsman quality. Don't know if it will perform as well as original. One problem that might exist in both original and knock off version is that the metal USB insert (which detracts when you transform it) does not lock when out. You have to hold the lever to keep it from detracting when you insert it into your USB port.
