new home for my western digital mybook drive . I had a western digital mybook 500g drive go funky on me and an IT guy suggested it was probably the case not the drive. so I just popped it into this new case today, and it boots up right away on my mac. problem solved.
a few notes:
some have mentioned the led cable is a bit short, yes it is. it also did not line up with the pins on my WD anyway. so my blue light is not on. I am actually happy about this, one less glow light is fine.
once unpacked the case seemed a bit scuffed up in the front corners. sometimes you just get the sense that you might not be the first person to use it you know? if this was a new drive+case I would be more bothered, or if it wasn't going to end up hidden anyway. however it is something to note.
also there is not an sata cable, you slide the drive right into the connection, then its screwed in place. some may not like this, seems fine to me.
the instructions are good, screws are included with a usb cable. and the case is really metal, with metal not plastic or rubber connections for those that care. the fan seems robust and is replaceable. the air flow is straight thru, a good thing.
the 'one touch backup' button is on the back and honestly looks like a reset button. it only works on certain PC OS anyway, but I can't imagine anyone really using it with their software, with all the excellent software options that are better.
as others have noted, this is NOT a RAID. JBOD stands for 'just a bunch of disks'. they will read as one disk.
I bought this because it wasn't much more than a single sata disk case, it had a fan (which is very quite but not totally silent), it was metal, and the airflow looked right, and now I have an extra slot when I need one. we have a bunch of WD mybook drives in those plastic cases and I like having options. I can't speak to what will happen in 6 months.
other than the dings on the face, I am happy and its up and running.

Excellent Buy!! . I've been using this with two 1TB WD Green drives to stream HD video. No issues at all, runs cool and quiet! The directions included are well-written and helpful, but they are not exactly correct; the product must have changed since printed and there are a few extra screws and steps, but it's very simple to put together and well made. The only advice I can provide with assembly is to be careful with the wiring harness for the front lights, they are thin wires and the sheathing can be damaged, but I think that's obvious and the same as any other device like this, putting the drives in is very intuitive.
The product does exactly what ineo states, it concatenates the two installed hard-drives into one logical drive, and your computer recognizes it (plug-and-play) as one new hard-drive. You can not use pre-existing content on the drives, you need to format the new logical drive the same as any new hard-drive (I use Windows XP, so via the "found new drive" wizard). There are no buttons, dip-switches, or software for setting options (which I like). I didn't use the included backup software, so can't say how it works.
I'd recommend the I-NA309J to anyone!

Great simple east to use Hard Drive Case. . I love this product. I had two 1 TB drives laying around so I bought this product because it was one of the cheapest I found. With in 10 minutes I had the drives installed and it was up and running. I use this as a backup drive on my network and for that purpose it works great.
Looks good saved my life . I ordered this enclosure to replace a LaCie 2TB external JBOD enclosure which failed on me. I was fortunate that the drives worked great, simply installed them and I had my data back.
Enclosure looks good, has great air circulation, and a nice and small power brick. I liked it so much I picked up the 2.5" version for on the go data storage.

ineo JBOD + quality HDD(s) = happy storage . I purchased this ineo JBOD one month ago due to prior experience with "out-of-the-box" external storage heat dissipation problems...and ultimately HDD failure.
Installation and formatting of my 1.5 TB/500 GB WD HDD combo was completed within 15 minutes without any problems. Both HDDs stayed nice and cool due to the open design. The only complaint is a slightly noisy fan but I can live with it.

Cons Review
Electronics not robust . This JBOD enclosure's electronics have failed after just 6 months. The enclosure was easy to use, however the power cables can easily become caught within the enclosre as the drive tray is inserted. And, my disks are cooked.
The enclosure was not moved during this six-month period or mishandled in any way. Because of this reliability issue, I would recommend not purchasing this item - even if it becomes available again.

Unit does not work with 2 1TB Drives . Tried to install 2 1TB Seagate Hard drives, 3 computers could not see the INEO Box. Emailed Tech 6 times, did what they asked, still does not work. Unit being returned now
