Simple back up finally! . Super easy, simple and it works! Finally something you just plug in and it knows what to do. Love it!The first backup can take a considerable amount of time because it is saving ever bit of information on your hard drive. If you have a large hard drive just start it as you go to bed and you are ready to go by the time you wake up. After the first backup it scans for changes and only updates those changes so it is considerably faster the second time. Example, mine took 7 hours on first back up and 45 minutes there after.HIGHLY recommended.

Peace of mind - easy and fast . Before upgrading from Vista to Win7 I wanted to take an image of my PC in case of a problem with the upgrade. I had no problem connecting, starting the imaging process and it was much faster than I had anticipated. My upgrade went without a hitch but I wasn't worried either. I highly recommend this product. Very easy to use and understand.

Easier and better than I thought... . I purchased this item because I was so frustrated with my Passport back-up drive and how confusing it was to use. I want simplicity and I got it with this unit. The passport doesn't back up your windows or Office programs either. I found the plug and go Click-free was just what I needed. First I backed up my computer, quickly and easily,(1st run takes longer), then backed up my wife's laptop and it was so easy. Then I can leave it on my computer for repeat update back-ups per my schedule. Once a month I'll plug in the laptop to keep that computer's files up to date. If you want ease of use, along with more back up than other units, you can't miss with this unit. I highly recommend it!
For Us Older Folks . I am 65 years old and remember using the old manual typewriters. I'm not very computer literate at my age now, but I wanted a way to back up my whole computer if anything went wrong. My life is in my computer - everything from medical stuff to spreadsheets. This gizmo worked fine, and I hope I never have a computer crash. But, if I DO, then I'll know that everything can be restored. Took about 3 hours to back up 99GBs.The only gripe I have is that the directions that are sent are scanty and are written in about 20 different languages. To find out how to do all the things this C6 can do, one has to find and download the .pdf file which is user friendly and is in English.
Works.....When you can keep the stupid cable from falling out. . I am reviewing the Clickfree C6 portable version. PLUSES: This unit does work. I backed up over 500gb of files to it and continue to do so. It's got a USB 3.0 interface and thus pretty fast. I've used it both over USB 3 and 2 and everything transfers fine. I don't use the Clickfree backup software much, but the few times I have used it, I had no issues. MINUSES: The stupid USB cable is barely held in on the hard drive side and falls out with the slightest touch. It's quite insane how loose it is. I ended up super gluing the cable so the drive is actually usable. Also the shiny, plastic outer casing is a scratch magnet. Look at it funny and it scratches. There are several other backup hard drives that are priced similarly and work much better, thus I have a hard time recommending this unit.
Clickfree C6 . Excellent product direct from its maker, and at the time, the lowest price. Having mirror image disks laying around is so calmly reassuring.
Cons Review
puzzled . I have been trying to backup with the c6 for 18 hours....and there is no end in sight. I have a pentium 4 XP that really doesn't have that much on it. I backed up my docs on c drive and k drive
to a flash drive and it took about 15 minutes. The c6 gives you no indication of what it's doing or where it is in it's "search"....which has been going on, again, for 18 hours. That's all it says...."searching for files". You don't get an option of what files to back up...which could be good if it didn't take so long. I've had tech walk me through this..that means I'm plugged into the 'back' port which is necessary.

Clickfree is not good . This was the second Clickfree backup drive I had gotten within a month. I first ordered one from another vendor and got it and the connections were all bent so I sent it back. Then I ordered this one from Amazon because it was twice the storage for not much more than the original one I got. Well when I got this one, I tried plugging it in and it did not work at all, it powered on but never got recognized by my computer and there was no reason for it but there was something rattling inside the device. Perhaps maybe it got damaged during shipping, but regardless, it had to be returned. Having gotten a bad item from two different vendors makes me want to steer clear of Clickfree in the future!
Defective software/firmware harms computer . Clickfree Automatic Backup C6 1 TB USB 3.0 Desktop External Hard Drive CA3D10 (Black)C6 destroyed my toshiba laptop and required me to totally reformat the C drive, reinstall Windows 7/32, and restore my entire C drive from a previous backup using Acronis backup. Took about half a day.
