Pretty Fast and a Sleek Design . (This review is for the "A-DATA Nobility Series 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive".)

I've been using this memory stick for about a month now. I also have a 16GB Verbatim Store `n' Go Pro and an 8GB Sony Micro Vault Pro USD8G (on Amazon: 8GB USB 2.0 Micro Vault Pro Autosync). The Sony actually contains a 1 inch hard drive inside (I believe, a Seagate 3,600 RPM), but in every practical sense, to me it behaves just like a regular USB stick flash drive. I have had these other two USB sticks for over 2 years now and they both still work excellent.

A-DATA - the Good:
* USB 3.0 means it should be much faster than the other two (I have not had a chance to try it in USB 3.0 mode).
* This USB stick is light weight, thin and narrow, a beautiful and sleek design.
* Transfer speed: I have Copied a folder of 6,511 MB size (containing about 40 sub-folders with a bunch of smaller wmv, doc, mp3, flv, pdf and jpg files) from a 10,000 RPM hard drive to the memory sticks and obtained the following Paste (Write) speeds:
A-DATA: 14.5 MB/sec
Verbatim: 7.3 MB/sec
Sony: 6.8 MB/sec
* My Windows XP recognizes it as ADATA UFD (H:) drive.
* Excellent price for the storage space and read/write speeds.
* Claimed lifetime warranty (limited) on parts and labour.

A-DATA - the Bad:
* Gets very warm (but not hot) while the computer stays turned on (doesn't matter if the stick is active or dormant), and stays lukewarm even while the computer is off. (My A-DATA stick permanently sits in a powered USB hub, but both the Verbatim and Sony stay cool to the touch under all conditions).
* There is no activity indicator light.
* It is about 1 inch longer than the Verbatim when inserted in the USB hub - sticks out about 3.5 inches.
* Available free space: 28.6 GB - less than 90% of the advertised 32GB!
(Both the Verbatim and Sony have a little over 93% storage space capacity - not that great either. I strongly believe that if you purchase a memory stick, it should contain the advertised storage space! I also have a 2GB Verbatim Store `n' Go Pro with a free-space capacity of 1.96 GB - 98%.)

A-DATA - the Neutral:
* Factory formatted as NTFS.
* It has a plastic cap cover which when removed from the USB-end can be slipped over the opposite end of the stick. For now, it feels snug.

Overall, I can recommend this A-DATA because of the good storage space, physical dimensions, price, forward compatible (USB 3.0), and for the read and write speeds. My only concern is the heat - the unit does get very warm. Will this affect the lifespan of this USB stick? We'll have to see.

ADATA N005 64 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive AN005-64G-CGY (Grey) Reviews
Company is great; product no longer available . I loved this flash drive. Unfortunately, airport security dropped it, ruining it. I called the company and they promptly upheld the guarantee and agreed to send me a replacement. They don't make this same product, however, and instead sent me 2 32GB flash drives instead. The company is great and the product is fantastic as it allows me to save encrypted files.
ADATA N005 64 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive AN005-64G-CGY (Grey) Opinions
Fastest Flashdrive . I was shocked when I tried this flashdrive. It is extremely fast. It transfers files at least 4 times faster than my Corsair Voyager GT 8GB and 16GB which I previously thought were fast. This of course is at USB 3.0. But even when used as USB 2.0 it is considerably faster. The only thing I don't like about it is that the plastic cap keeps falling off when the drive is in my pocket.
A fast drive with a some drawbacks . This was my first USB 3.0 drive, which I bought about 7 months ago.

It is faster than USB 2.0 - 64MB/s write using 'hdparm -t' under Linux using a USB 3.0 port. In a USB 2.0 port I see 30 MB/s which is faster by about 40% than USB 2.0 drives in the same port.

The case does get warm, but it hasn't had any apparent effect on reliability.

It is a big drive. I'm not sure how much of the size is marketing to make it 'stand out' or required for engineering reasons.

My main gripe is the cap. It comes off too easily when the drive is carried in a bag. The 'storage' position on the other end of the drive is as solid as the normal position - it pops off too easily. If you put a lanyard into the provided hole then the cap can't be stored on the drive at all, so it's going to get lost! I much prefer a drive from which nothing can be detached.

Overall, a reasonable performer for the price, though more modern drives boast speeds twice as fast as the ADATA now.
HURRAY! USB 3.0 . I WILL NEVER BUY a usb 2.0 drive( especially from sandisk )again. The N005 16GB drive is definitely a solid, reliable, and fast drive with a rugged body. A 1gb file takes about 52 secs (27 MB/s) to transfer from a usb 2.0 port . The N005 do get a little warm but nothing intolerable. I highly recommend it.
Fast Flash Drive . Pros:

Blazing speed. I have tested it under USB 2.0 and found the following:

Read speed: 32 MB/s
Write speed: 25 MB/s for a 600 MB file

Cons:
Feels hot after a while.
Very big. Almost twice the size of a normal flash drive.

Cons Review
WHAT A SURRENDER MONKEY . This is physically a very solid flashdrive, and works reasonable quickly in a USB3 slot, although nowhere near as fast as a USB3 hard drive. It pushes any USB2 slot to its maximum, so this is good too, if it works. Unfortunately it gets very hot in even light use, USB2 or USB3, and the metal body is clearly required to disappate the excess heat, this aspect is mentioned in other reviews I have seen. It is this that I suspect caused it fail very early on in its career, and I will take pains to avoid ADATA drives in future. I lost all the data on mine and it went in the bin after a couple of months. So much for saving time with USB3.
Terrible Junk . Used this drive for work for about 3 months -- it was nice and fast for moving big files off of my USB 3.0-equipped laptop -- then it died utterly, and without warning. Was using it for short-term backup of some important files that were overloading my laptop, but now they are gone for good. It is fast, but completely unreliable. Also, regarding the industrial design a) It's too big and cumbersome: much bigger than most flash drives, bulky in a pocket, awkward on a key chain, too long in a laptop port, and ugly, too, if that matters to you. b) The plastic cap is a cheap afterthought and falls off easily and mine was lost after a few days. c) The USB connector pins are flimsy little spring wires. The center one on my drive is bent out of sight. Didn't notice until the drive failed and I was searching for a cause. Don't know if this is the source of the failure, but the drive still shows up in my "devices" list under Windows 7. Because the center pin on the USB is unreachable through the top holes in the connector, there's no way to pry the pin back into place without drilling a hole in the top of the connector. Hoping ADATA will honor the warranty, though, so at least I can offload the replacement for this piece of junk on some other unsuspecting schmo and get a few of my (way too many) dollars back. Don't waste your time with this over-priced stick and definitely don't buy mine if I'm selling it.
