iTwin reinvents the traditional USB drive by providing simple and secure on-the-go access to all one's files. Unlike USB drives and other portable storage, which have space limitations and privacy risks, iTwin's award-winning product comprises two identical halves that need only be plugged into two computers for them to be instantly connected over the Internet and secured by hardware-based, AES-256 encryption. If you lose one half of iTwin, you can remotely disable that half, thus keeping your data secure. Your data resides safely on your computer. iTwin works with Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It uses the familiar Windows Explorer, with drag'n'drop functionality. There's nothing to learn and nothing to configure. iTwin has been awarded the "red dot" product design award for high design quality.

iTwin tastic! . I love Technology and the iTwin has solved my basic need of transferring data between computers. I have 2 PC's in my studio. One used for audio production and the other for video production. Instead of loading a thumb drive and then reinserting into other machine, I simply insert iTwin on 1 PC, software loads, open iTwin folder, "drop" data in: photos, music, videos, etc. THEN I simply insert second half of iTwin into the other PC,(in any connected internet location) open folder and voila! There are all my files from the original PC now present on my other production PC. iTwin works on any PC (or Mac.) As long as you load iTwin folder for remote access with the files you need on the road, you can connect the other 1/2 of iTwin into ANY PC (or Mac) and have your data appear. There is no cloud server, and best of all, NO DATA is actually stored on the 1/2 of iTwin you take with you. Plus, if you lose one 1/2 of the device, you can remotely disable iTwin to keep your data secure.

Remotely edit any shared file from any location: My production partner needed to help me edit video so rather than taking forever to upload file and / or use email, I simply gave the other 1/2 of iTwin to him and he could see all the necessary files before my finished production! and he can re-edit them and drop back in iTwin folder and I can access his changes on my PC. He's on the west coast, I'm on the east coast and we're making changes in lightning speed!!

When I'm shooting in the field and want to unload my SD card from my camera, I simply move them all into my iTwin folder and my PC at home now has all the newly added files to keep safe and secure! No worrying if I'll have my photos or video accidentally erased or damaged. The possibilities are endless.

I'm not spending a lot of $ on multiple thumb drives, flash drives, external drives anymore. The iTwin has the same "storage" capacity as the capacity on my pc (or Mac.) That means storage is limitless!!

The skinny on operating systems: You can use iTwin on any of the following platforms: * Microsoft® Windows® XP (Service Pack 2 and above), Windows® Vista, Windows® 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) * Apple® Mac OSX® 10.6 and above (i.e. Snow Leopard and Lion

Security: With AES-256 hardware-enabled encryption. It's as secure and simple as data transfer gets.
iTwin Gray Plug'n'Play Remote File Access USB Device Reviews
Great for remote file access without any hassle. . I got to know about iTwin through a colleague who uses it for accessing his work stuff while travelling. And it struck me that iTwin could work for me too. And it so does!

I used to email files to myself in order to work on them from home. What this meant was that I had to keep an eye on my files on my office and home computer to ensure I didn't mix up the latest versions with older ones.

Now with an iTwin I don't have to email files to myself but I can access all them whenever I need to. This saves me the pain of maintaining proper file versions. Also I am assured of the security of my files since iTwin ensures they are encrypted when accessed remotely. I had no troubling setting it up, nor did I have to worry about learning a new interface since the iTwin folder looks like a normal folder on your machine.
iTwin Gray Plug'n'Play Remote File Access USB Device Opinions
Mac to PC and PC to Mac . I just received this device and within 20 minutes I was able to access my Mac files from a Windows 7 PC.First thought - being a little computer savvy helps. The brief manual does not yet cover the Mac platform so you have to go to the iTwin website and download and install the Mac software. Follow the onscreen instructions and voila' it is installed. OK, being a regular computer user I naturally put the manual down and started playing around. Pulled out the second half of the iTwin and stuck it in my Windows laptop let the software install and then a little remote Files Icon comes up, then I saw my remote files. Here is a key point. The files I am accessing are on a NAS connected to my Mac, You have to drag the files via Finder into the iTwin local folder on your local computer. It doesn't seem you can just access your computer and cruise around, the files have to be set up. I set up an entire share (a logical drive as my local files with over 10 GB's of storage on line.ThoughtsIf you are a complete neophyte it will be tricky but you won't likely buy this product.
You can also transfer a file from the remote computer to the local computer (seems a bit slower that way)
Bottom line - works well and seems like a very valuable productIf you are a home office worker or someone who needs to access files you have in a different location this works. I will report later after more usage
Excellent Item . I noticed that my boss was spending quite a bit of time at the end of each day transferring files to his laptop to work on at home (he's not into dropbox or anything like that). I ordered the iTwin and he loves it! It was easy to set up and all he has to do is make sure that his current work is in a folder that is shared with the iTwin. Affordable and easy to understand, setup, and use!

Cons Review
Beware Mac Users . Beware if you are a Mac user. The Mac software from iTwin is "Beta" software, and it crashes constantly and doesn't really work. I've sent several requests to the company for assistance and have not gotten a reply, so there is poor support for this product.
