When it comes to file storage, you want something as reliable as your favorite lovable robot. This metal USB flash drive features a delightful robot that just can't wait to pull its own head off to hold your data. The robot's head doubles as the flash drive cap, and is attached to the body via two springy "arms" so you cant't lose it. Amazing little flash drive sans the novelty robot appendages... . honestly, this little guy's a workhorse. don't let his small size fool you; he can pack away an impressively large amount of data, music, video, etc., etc., etc.
on top of that, he's really, really easy to understand, and even easier to use; no need to install drivers, annoying software, etc. -- just plug him in and he's ready to go.
also, it was nice to find a flash drive with a more than ample amount of space -- at least, for my needs -- contained within such a compact frame. the deciding factor, however, that led to my purchase of this item, was the fact that it's pre-formatted for FAT32 applications; i have another, much larger, drive from Toshiba, that i couldn't use for my intended application (backing up the hard drive on my PS3) simply because i didn't want to deal with formatting to FAT32.
this little guy's the perfect size for what i need, and it really couldn't be easier to use. my only gripe, as hinted to in my title, is directed solely at his arms and legs; his head/helmet can be annoying as well, seeing as it's permanently fused to the arms. i say this, simply because the space between the USB port on my PS3 and the table is less than ample. when trying to plug him in, you (obviously) have to remove his helmet, which, combined with his arms, make up a single floppy, clumsy piece which has to either be directed toward his stomach area, or to his back-side. combine this with his floppity, boingy-ish legs and the far from necessitous, couldn't-need-it-less key chain feature, and you've got yourself one hell of an awkward insertion process.
i ended up tearing the key chain from the little eyelet on his back (sorry, buddy), which has made insertion a tad bit less difficult, but those arms and legs... man, they've gotta go. in the meantime, i've discovered an effective method for insertion when the P.O.I (Point Of Insertion) is below knee-level: i position his helmet/arms so they're resting on his abdomen, and i lay him on his stomach directly in front of the P.O.I., his "inserter" facing toward its target (this position puts his "inserter" at the perfect height in conjunction to the P.O.I.); then, lying on his stomach, on top of his helmet/arms, i slowly slide him toward the receiving slot of the P.O.I. (due to the overhang above the PS3's USB ports, along with the PS3's proximity to the ground, i'm forced to go in "blind," so it's important to know the how it "feels" when the inserter is fully inserted into the P.O.I.); i keep sliding him forward until i feel him "click" into place, at which point, i know that his inserter's successfully made entry into the PS3's P.O.I.
