Great so far . I've bought 3 of these now. So far, they're great. I use 'em to store footage downloaded from my DV and HD cameras, for editing.
A great bonus is this drive's flexibility of Firewire and E-Sata. I edit movies from my Macbook Pro laptop, which only has 1 bus for firewire. So if I wanted to capture from my DV camera *and* the drive I wanted to capture to only had firewire, I'd be screwed - the laptop's bus wouldn't capture quickly enough.
But instead I got an E-Sata Expresscard for my Macbook Pro - the Rosewill RC-605 SATAII , also a great product - and now I'm all set. And I can still also daisy-chain all 3 of my Rocstor drives via Firewire if I want to.
To sum up: they work great, they look cool, they take up minimal room, so I think they're work it.

Great Backup Device . After researching Mac-compatible TB hard-drives, I came across Rocstor, which seemed the best user controlable disc-space. I also like the versatility of the connection choice (USB, Firewire 800/400, or ESATA). Since this line of Harddrives is also able to Daisy Chain together, if I ever need an expansion I know where to go to.
It has been working smoothly as a Time-Machine connected Drive as well as a small backup partition for the most important files.

Rock Solid--great fit for iMac . I've been using this for about three months--and, apart from the occasional check to make sure my data is complete, I don't think about it. Works as promised, stays cool, the firewire interface is a great feature, and doesn't have the bizarre loud fan noise of previous Lacie backup drives. Highly recommend. I'm just surprised more people don't know about Rocstor. Hopefully, that will change.

The only small negative was that Amazon shipped me a Red one, instead of the black that I ordered. Since it's hidden behind my iMac, that has turned out to be a non-issue.

Cons Review
Limited life . I bought 3 RocStor HDs w/Firewire 800 for video editing. They worked for a time but 2 of the 3 have failed after 4 years. None of my older Lacie or Seagate HDs have ever given me any trouble so, sorry, no more RocStor for me.
Flaky performance on iMac and Service is bad . I was excited to receive my new 1TB Rocstor 850. Wanted the higher performance FW800 capability plus the whisper quiet enclosure. No issues connecting the drive to my iMac via enclosed FW800 to FW800 cable. Set both my time machine and Super Duper parameters for back-up and I was off and running. Well...not so fast. The next morning I saw a message from Super Duper saying it could not perform previous night backup. Imac lost connection to 850, so I turned 850 off and on again and drive was recognized again by imac. Next morning, same problem - Imac lost connection to 850. Tried using usb port instead of FW800, same issue - lost connection. Tried turning iMac sleep mode off, same problem. Mind you, I did not have this issue with my previous 250GB usb external drive. So I called Rocstor service and was instructed to leave a message. Called again four hours later and was told technician was "running errands". Person promised that technician would call me back. Well, that never happened. I am now returning Rocstor 850 to Amazon and ordering a Western Digital drive instead. Thank goodness for the easy RMA process with Amazon! Buyer Beware...
