not I'm really looking for . this drive is fast but not as fast as I'm expecting. With the e sata connection it can go faster like double the speed. This drive only can go up to 1.5g transfer rate. Thought I was getting the 3.0g!!!! Guest I'm stuck with this now. Guys make sure they say 3.0g transfer rate!!!! Don't end up like me stuck with it now!!!!!!!

AcomData Samurai 500 GB USB 2.0/eSATA Rugged Portable 2.5-inch External Hard Drive SD500USE Reviews
Not that fast! . This external hard drive works fine for the price you pay for.
I`ve tested reading and writing speeds.
Reading speeds:
Folder (500 Mb) containing most files under 2 Mb: 12 - 16 Mb/sec
Folder (1Gb) ) containing only 11 Mb pictures: 60 - 80 Mb/sec
Single mpeg file (1Gb): 60-80 Mb/sec
Writing speeds:
Folder (500 Mb) containing files under 2 Mb: 17 - 25 Mb/sec
Folder (1Gb) ) containing only 11 Mb pictures: 32 - 35 Mb/sec
Single mpeg file (1Gb): 35 - 38 Mb/sec
Just for comparison, the fastest I can go with my Philips 2Gb pendrive for writing speeds is about 4 - 5 Mb/sec (11Mb pictures) and for reading speeds is about 20 - 25 Mb/sec (same 11Mb pictures).
The reason I gave 4 stars is that I thought It could be faster than it actually is.
I recommend this product.

AcomData Samurai 500 GB USB 2.0/eSATA Rugged Portable 2.5-inch External Hard Drive SD500USE Opinions
Not "Rugged" Still Great . I bought this drive to store all of my pictures on. I take quite a few and I don't like feeling like I have to be conservative with the amount I take because of storage limitations. This is a good external hard drive. It works, I have had no problems as of yet. Transfer speeds are what you would expect. It does not include an eSata cable so you will have to purchase one if you want to make even speedier transfers.
As for build quality it isn't exactly what you'd expect. It's not really "rugged" as they claim. It just has some rubber wrapped around the outside edge of the enclosure. I have noticed though, that when you put a little pressure on the top and bottom of the enclosure you can hear some scratching on the inside, the like sound of the spinning disks hitting the inside. It isn't very solid either. Like when you hold it, it doesn't feel like they used up all of the space inside the enclosure. It isn't very... tight. But it's still an excellent drive.

AWESOME ! eSATA external Hard Drive . Don't hesitate on getting this item. It does everything you could want. Works great - just drag and drop. Many PCs have an eSATA plug in and this works fantastic with that. I use it often and it works great. The construction is heavy duty and only a little bigger then a pencil box. Pick up a seperate eSATA cord on Amazon - they are really cheap and will all work great.
