Excellent Flash Drive Minor Annoyance in Design . The drive has been working fine with no issues for a couple months now. The only issue I have with it is that due to the sliding mechanism not being as tight or secure as possible, that the protective outer portion will easily slide back and forth with minimal pressure. I keep it in my pants or the tiny jean pocket and it will almost always have the USB tip exposed when I pull it out. Not a big deal, but if you're clumsy or rough with your USB sticks I'd suggest looking at others.

Solid Flash Drive not the best . I thought I was sacrificing size for speed, but this bulky flash drive is a little slower than what the reviews made it out to be (the positive ones at least). Also, I tend to find the USB port sticking out when I pull it out of my pocket too (it's attached to my keys), I worry that I'll end up damaging it somehow. Other than than, it's a solid drive and I've had Kingston products in the past with a long life. Works faster than others I've had, but the biggest drawback is its size.

Save Data and Travel . You ever save some stuff and go back and the folder is empty? I bought some 8 gig no-name fobs from a third party vender and the price was good but did not save all the time. So after finding out my new fobs are worthless, I decided to get a big name brand and chose the King Datatraverler 16 gig drive. Lots of space amd works everytime. I give 5 stars.
Unique Flash Drive Design . This is one cool flash drive! Kingston has made this drive in a similar fashion to the SanDisk Cruzer, in that the USB connector retracts into the casing. So no more worries about losing those small caps. The housing of this drive is completely made of plastic. There is an ergonomic rubber thumb grip that makes pushing the usb port easy and comfortable. However the fake chrome finish takes finger prints easily. The port 'locks' into the open and closed position to ensure that it can be inserted into the USB port easily.
On the down side, this drive, because of the ergonomic enhancements, is pretty wide and tall. The drawback here is that some closely placed USB ports will not facilitate placing these drives side by side.
An LED is place below the Kingston Face Logo, so that you can easily tell when it is either reading or writing data. On the opposite end of this drive is spacing that allows a string or hand strap to be attached to it.
This drive is very reliable, the manufacturer has supplied: Reading speed at 10MB/sec, while Writing speed at 5MB/sec. However, if you bench test this drive you may be pleasantly surprised to see that these speeds are exceeded, especially when larger files are involved.
I highly recommend this Flash Drive.

Cons Review
not a keychain app . My son has a Kingston traveler that pivots to expose the socket. From the ads, I thought this puppy did the same. Ouch! It uses a thumb rest to slide forwards and expose the socket. Every time I tried to use it on a key chain, it was always coming open in my pocket. While there's nothing wrong with this design per se, I'm unhappy in that I thought I was getting a swiveling guard, like my son's. they are both named travelers, but apparently, my son's is a locker, This will negatively affect my use of the item. It probably will do what it's supposed to do, it just won't be as handy as what I thought I was ordering. So, now, it just hangs on a lanyard, off of a lamp switch in my bedroom. It really looked in the ad to be a swiveling metal guard. Either clarify the ad copy or change the names. We got a freebie Gov't motors ad on a thumb drive that looks like a Jimmy, and it has problems, but taking off the U-3, made a handy 1 gig. dumb thumb, that works as a key fob. I had to super glue a seem, back together, but at least it stays shut in my pocket.

However, if you're like me and carry this in your pocket, the slide cover opens itself up, leaving the usb exposed and unprotected. Also the plastic shield is pretty light weight and, in my opinion, very easy to damage. It also does not have a ring to attach it to a key chain, which isn't important to me, but may be to some. I will be retiring this one to being a spare and I will purchase another SanDisk Cruzer, which not only stays closed and protected, but is also 5/8" shorter and slightly thinner.

This thing is a total piece of crap. That last several times using it, I have had problems writing to it. Today I can't write to it or read it, meanwhile my old SanDisk still works fine. I have not purchased a replacement SanDisk as of yet, but will be today. This thing is only 3 months old and has failed. JUNK.
