The introduction of the USB 3.0 standard opens up some very exciting possibilities for the external storage market. Boasting 10x performance increase, it’s really fast, but performance alone can not topple a standard as pervasive as its predecessor, USB 3.0 also needed to be completely backward compatible; and it is. A well written spec, USB 3.0 was designed to co-exist with USB 2.0 instead of replace it. SuperTalent RAIDDRIVE 64GB . We picked up a couple of these to play with several months ago. I've had a few months of consistent use of one of these under my belt and I thought it would only be fair to shair what I think:
Heat: We heard how hot they get and they really, Really do. Probably 50-55C at its hottest (top and bottom) and 25-27C on the sides. One of the hottest portable devices I've Ever use, but it's not unbearable nor was it a surprised. These USB 3.0 SSDs squeeze a Ton inside.
Size: This thing's a monster and looks like the hot girl's chubby best friend when alongside other flashdrives, But - that's when you realize this thing Is Not a flashdrive.
USB 2: Is as compatible as they say - has worked right out of the box with everything I've tried
USB 3: So far it's depended on the card/OS. I knew going into this that adopting such a young technology will not be without obstacles. Using this thing for the speeds its built for will Only lead you to obstacle after obstacle. The ONLY USB 3.0 computers I've run into have been the ones I've purchased and installed the cards in myself. Some cards have given me more trouble than the other, some none at all. Regardless - I've spent Way more time installing cards and trying to get the OS to recognize the drive than I have saved time in the USB 3 speed. Unless you're going to be transferring Large files from one location to another on a regular basis or running an OS off of it (or just want it it to have it) - this thing is Probably not worth your time. Oh and to clarify, many of these speeds claimed by SuperTalent weren't too heavily exaggerated. I was getting 200-290MBps SR (64GB), depending on the transfer.
All of that said, for those of you who think you'll be making use of this anywhere but your own personal computers - I'd wait until intel/AMD adoption comes around.

Incredible workhorse drive . I purchased this drive in October 2010, and I have been using it as my main hard drive on a daily basis - ever since. It is 1 year and going strong! I never write reviews, and I feel compelled to do so because of the other reviews here.I own the "Super Talent 128GB USB3.0 RAIDDrive, Pocket SSD RAID Array ST3U28SRK".My DAILY use of this drive consists of going back and forth between any one of my Acer laptops (USB 2.0) and my desktop computer which has a Gigabyte motherboard with built-in USB 3.0. I have a 100GB Truecrypt volume that I mount every time I plug in the drive.I have had nothing but 100% reliability with this drive. I have CrystalDiskMark installed on my desktop, and it always shows around 312MB/s read scores. This drive smokes! I have also successfully used this drive on another desktop in my office that has a $15 USB 3.0 card with an NEC chipset.This drive goes in and out my pocket every single day, and goes in & out of usb ports maybe 18 times a day. I never walk away from my office computer without putting it in my pocket.Whoa, I almost forgot to mention that I use PortableApps exclusively. This drive has been tortured for 1 full year and is going strong just like the first day I received it.

Cons Review
Not yet ready for Prime Time . I really wanted this device to be everything advertised.
I started the purchase here at Amazon and installed all of the software. Went to the Super Talent's web site and updated the latest 3.0 drivers and software upgrades from there. I attempted to use the RAIDDrive on my laptop and at home on my desktop computer. On the laptop the drive is initially recognized but soon drops from the windows explorer window. I guess it fair to tell you that I have a new Sony Vaio quad core i7 running Windows7. Sometimes the drive will "come into recognition on its own only to fall out" again on its own. I purchased a SIIG 3.0 express card at the same time I purchased the RAIDDrive 64G jump drive. At first I thought it might be the SIIG card so I replaced the SIIG with another one and had the same problem. I had my express slot tested to make sure that I was making contact properly ... and it was. Then I tried powering the 3.0 SIIG card from a Sata port using a cord from an old USB hub and I think it helped a little because it took longer to "fall out of recognition," in the end however the drive will not consistently stay powered.
The drive works fine in the USB slot as a 2.0 jump drive both on the laptop and at home. I don't have a 3.0 slot on my home desktop so I can't try it there. Anyway, I went to Super Talents web site and found another reviewer that was having the same problem as me. He never did get it resolved and just went with another type of drive that works for him. Super Talents support team gave me a call but did not respond after the first contact, even though I've sent multiple emails and tried to call them back.
All in all it appears to be a power issues and perhaps a fix is on its way. I delayed this review because I wanted it to be positive. I waited several weeks hoping that Super Talents engineers and programs would stay in touch but they have not. I am not returning the product because I believe that with 3.0 going main stream, we will all see adjustment in hubs, software and driver sets that will bring this products exciting potential into play.
Careful with your decision purchase this product ... for now. I'll try to keep everyone posted as I go through the "early adaptor" learning curve with the rest of the industry. And, since I'm not sending the unit back I will be reviewing this web site and others to resolve my issues. It is even my hope that I can increase this rating in the future.
