High Speed USB Stick . First I will state my purpose and usage so you know why I chose this device, then I will provide my comments. I was looking for a 4GB+ device that would be used exclusively for running portable applications. U3 devices would be acceptable, but speed is paramount for these type of devices. My research indicates if you are using a device for Vista ReadyBoost, you need the speed as well; however, I don't have Vista and wouldn't use this device for that anyway (because of my current needs for it). Secondarily, I am in IT and frequently loosing caps and/or having them wear out. So any design that would fit in most computers next to another USB stick while still keeping the cap attached was a big bonus. Cost was a third factor in the equation.
I shortlisted this device with the Corsair Voyager GT, Corsair Survivor (& Survivor GT), & OCZ ATV Turbo due to speeds attainable. While this is probably the slowest of the devices, it was also the least costly. Availability was another issue with the OCZ ATV line of devices at the time of purchase. In the end, it was cost and cap design that drove me to this device over the others. While they are certainly capable devices, some of them were twice the price of this one. Also, due to their focus on durability, they were generally larger, especially around the support shoulders where they could prevent other devices from connecting on many computers.
The speed of this device does not disappoint. It is very fast compared to other devices I have had (mostly Sandisk cruiser line) and much larger capacity to boot. The swing cap is a big bonus and does not get in the way at all. Occasionally, it will swing sideways while inserted in the computer, but this is only when I bump it and these bumps could normally cause the device to disconnect at best and break at the shoulder at worst. So this is actually a benefit in disguise. On the down side, it is rather long, so when it is plugged in, it is somewhat more likely to get bumped. Also on the down side, the device feels flimsy. Maybe it is just the swing cap, but it just doesn't feel very durable. This is not a bad thing for me, but if you are clumsy with your devices, steer clear.
All in all, I would rate this device overall a 4+ out of 5. Each person buys these things for different reasons, and if you are looking for a device that is fast, relatively cheap, and has an integrated cap, this is your device. If you are looking for something sturdy or physically small while still maintaining large capacity, look elsewhere.

Amazingly Fast Flash Drive . This is without a doubt the best flash driver I have ever owned. I wanted to replace my old drive with a more advanced unit with higher read/write speed. I am a graphic designer and transport files constantly and fast write speed is a big help. The first time I used the XLR8, I copied a entire MP3 album to test it out. The coplete folder ripped in less the 30 Seconds. WOW! This Flash drive was mainly designed for gaming, but anyone that is just looking for some file transfer speed, this is the drive for you. I also chose this unit for the swivel capless design. I have owned one capped drive in the past and will never go that route again. The construction of the drive seem very durable as well. This Amazon listing was the cheapest I found the XLR8 listed for. Worth every penny.

I discovered some awesome portable apps, and running them on my run-of-the-mill 1 GB flash drive just wasn't cutting it. So I looked for a faster flash drive with a little more capacity that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. The XLR8 was it.
I like that it swivels, so there is no cap to lose. It is a little bit long when open, but not a big issue. There is a place (not visible in stock photos) to thread a lanyard through. Overall, great flash drive I would highly recommend.

flash meets fast . If anyone wants fast flash drive, this is it. the read/write speeds are close to the posted specs of 30mb read and 20mb write. The construction of the drive is plastic so, some caution does need to be taken (no rough stuff), but it is durable enough for daily activities.
Fast+ High storage= Convenient . It has a very high transfer rate 30MBps Read, 20MBps write.
I use it for all kinds of media, but, with all the other storage devices I have it's a little difficult to find the time to use it.
If you want extremely high speed and storage speed, this is about as close as you can get.
