Last for a long time!! . I have this for about 3-4 years now and now its full. Trying to get a 2TB now by western digital. This is still working in perfect condition and I've put it in close spaces, sometimes it heats up, but its still working. Very durable and last for a long time! Great product!

Cons Review
Was good at first then died like the always do. . When i first received this it was amazing. It worked great for a solid 6 months. Then I used it one day and then tried to use it the next and it crashed my computer. So I brought it into work to try to see if it was my computer. It crashed that computer too. I handed it to our IT guy and it crashed every computer it touched. When I finally booted it into safe mode all the information I saved on the drive was already erased. I could not of put a virus onto it because everything on the computer was clean then I read other reviews off tigerdirect and this has happened to many others. I wasnt happy about the fact that you have to shut down your computer everytime you want to eject it but that wasnt much of a problem for me. If you get this drive beware that it will eventually kick out on you so only save things to it that aren't vital and aren't the only copy of it you have.
not happy with this hard drive . I purchased this hard drive and another brand about a year ago for photo back up.I like the other reviewer had liked this hard drive until one day it was not recognized by my computor,and now all that is saved is lost.I will not purchase another element.Lucky i backed up photos on another hard drive or all would be lost.I now must purchase another hard drive to back up my photos
