S200 Personal . I decided to buy one due to the hardware level security, however, was not prepared for the features in the Personal S200 Ironkey. The applications for secure browsing, anonymous browsing, and password management included in the Personal edition are definitely what sold me on this device. Disclaimer: This review is based solely on my understanding of how the device works and may not be entirely correct.

Ironkey utilizes thier own tor network (if you prefer anonymous browsing) via the included browser. It allows the user to just click to activate or turn off. A user can do all their secure browsing (e.g. shopping, banking, etc.) directly off the Ironkey without concern of storing anything on the local computer. The password manager is fantastic to track all your passwords and autofill the form on the sites. You have control over what is written and can alter the information if necessary. Therfore, one password to access your Ironkey is all you need to remember if you go that route. Another great benefit is that you can backup your Ironkey access password to their site just in case you can't remember. This will avoid you from causing a wipe from multiple invalid attempts.

Ironkey provides firmware updates for the device as available. Support on the forums is also excellent. I recommend this for users who want that extra security to safeguard personal information.

Personal S200 2G Reviews
Well made secure and feature rich . Obviously this device is not inexpensive, but if you want added security then this is the best. The key is very easy to use; because the key will self-destruct after only 10 failed attempts a password of moderate strength is all that is required. The on-board Identity Manager is a very good App, but did not transfer all of my passwords from Roboform, which I highly recommend. I installed Roboform2Go. Roboform2Go is resident on the key, it produces random passwords and has its own encryption, giving 2 layers of encryption for passwords and safenotes, another great feature. Would have given the Ironkey 5 stars if the included Identity Manager worked better.

The on-board version of Firefox is not only more secure, but with a password manager everything needed to more safely do business on the web is always available. All of this still leaves plenty of room to store sensitive financial and personal identity documents and information. And all of this is unavailable as soon as the key is locked and removed from the computer.

Finally a portable and secure password keeper, document vault, and browser.

BTW, also recommend adding the BetterPrivacy add-on to help keep the key clean. BetterPrivacy removes LSO's (Local Shared Objects); LSO's are very similar to cookies, but are not removed by Firefox.

From Wikipedia:

"LSOs can be used by web sites to collect information on how people navigate those web sites even if people believe they've restricted the data collection.[4] More than half of the internet's top websites use LSOs to track users and store information about them.[5] There is relatively little public awareness of LSOs, and they can usually not be deleted by the cookie privacy controls in a web browser.[5] This may lead a web user to believe a computer is cleared of tracking objects, when it is not.[5]"

Update:

First, Ironkey support is great! After backing up my Ironkey, I attempted to update the device; this caused an irreparable error. Called support, after looking for info in forums, and they requested a copy of my receipt, sent them a copy, an RMA was approved in a couple of days, and a replacement arrived a few days after that, all very quick and painless. They even followed up to ensure everything was OK. They assured me that their engineers had resolved the issue and there would be no problem with future updates.

The new device was initiated and the encrypted backup was restored without a problem to the new Ironkey. Within a few weeks another update became available, after backing up again, I went ahead with the new update, and, much to my relief, the update went smoothly!

Many thanks to Ironkey, Ironkey support, and their engineers. This is a great product and the company understands that in the end, support is how a customer base is retained and expanded!
Personal S200 2G Opinions
$10 flash drive + $80 security . I often need to carry files with confidential information so I bought this device a couple of years ago for its hardware/software security. It works as advertised (fortunately I haven't had to test its security). Plug it in, enter the password, and there are my files. I don't use the Firefox browser; it's several versions out of date anyway. The feature that loads log-on user names and passwords automatically is handy for programs that don't require a change of passwords every few weeks (most of mine do). A couple of minor annoyances: Windows 7 asks if I want to scan it for errors every time I start it (of course, it can't be scanned); and the device asks if I want to store the user name and password every time I log on to a site or program. But those are trivial. What is important is that I can carry sensitive data without being terrified that I might lose the device or that the data might be stolen so it's worth the price for peace of mind.
The safest thumb drive at an excellent price . This thumb drive has the encryption and protection you need for all of your sensitive data. In addition to being extremely well constructed, this drive comes with incredible customer support. Online backup and data recovery is available, as well as live technical support if you encounter a problem.

Never worry about your data being stolen or compromised if it's stored on an Ironkey.
Great Product for personal data transport . This thumb drive is exactly as self-described: nearly bullet proof (and if hit by a bullet, at least no one else is going to get the data from the drive). Super protection against physical attacks on the files. Super software to protect against software incursion.

My only reservation is that the company should have found some way to keep the port cover connected to the drive. Once taken off to access the data, it is on its own and subject to loss. A personal, but inelegant solution, is to apply some velcro type tape on the two parts. Otherwise, once the cap is lost, one is left with a really inelegant solution. This product deserves just that one final detail to make it perfect.
Great Product So Far . I have only had this thing for about a week, so I cannot comment on its durability. However, I can say that setup was a breeze, and daily use is just as easy as any other USB flash drive. I have not used the built-in Firefox browser, as I don't really have a need for it. This thing is built like a tank, and I have no concern about physical damage from regular use. I could probably drive over it with my truck and do no more than scratch the outside surface. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
Doesn't get better... . Perfect for piece of mind when transporting data and managing your web browser. The browser feature is invaluable as it keeps your history and tabs. As well as managing all your sites and related user-names and passwords. Peace of mind and I don't need to keep a separate record of all my user/pass info, priceless!
HIGHLY reccomended! . I have been using my Ironkey for over a year now. It has been nothing but a pleasure and ease to use this device. It has a high quality, easy to use, software program that automatically encrypts everything within it's own drive to the point that it is next to impossible to steal your information even if you save an encrypted back-up file on your PC. Furthermore, it will self-destruct if touched wrong or you type in your password wrong too many times, something that's very nice to know. Also, when you log-in, you have the option of using a secure on-screen keyboard to log-in if you're worried about keyloggers on your computer.
Furthermore, you have the great option of browsing anonymously through the internet (it'll seem like your coming anywhere from another state, Canada, Holland and beyond). However, smart IP trackers will be able to tell you're using a proxy, but without being able to trace where you actually are. Rest assured however, that Ironkey keeps track of everything, and if a subpeona comes up, will reveal who went where, so don't use it for illegal purposes.
Finally, the customer service is truly top notch. I have always received extremely prompt and curteous replies to all of my questions. I had the unfortunate incident of my files dissapearing on me one time (yes, even Ironkey, like all USB drives, are susceptible to this, hence the encrypted back-up option), the customer service got back right away, and not only that, but without prompting from my part kept emailing me to follow-up to see how I was doing and the progress was coming along and if I needed more help. I have not had a single company for a single product ever do something like that!

Top notch, you won't regret getting this device.
Purchase from Amazon or Ironkey . Just a heads up, I just ordered a replacement IronKey S200 from Amazon. The IronKey software & Firefox browser was not current probably because it has been on the shelf for months. This can easily be fixed but a bit of a hassle. You might save $20 but next time I will buy direct.

Cons Review
Would be great if it wasn't so flaky and unreliable! . The product idea is great, but execution is terrible.

The software is extremely flaky and unreliable.

You can't unmount the drive half of the time, and the built in browser sort of almost works, but tends to have maddening interactions with other parts of the system.

The backup feature is a good idea (since there's a good chance the key will die and lose your data), but the backup only encrypts file contents, and leave ALL FILE PATH STRUCTURE INTACT AND VISIBLE. This can be a serious flaw if you have sensitive info in your path and filenames.

As the final nail in the coffin for the ironkey, last time I mounted it said 'drive not formatted, would you like to format it?'. Good thing I didn't move all my sensitive data to it first... oh.... crap.

AVOID.

Edit: Yeah, they still suck, avoid....!
