Great encrypted portable drive but fragile . PRO: The Aegis Padlock Pro is a great device for storing large amounts of secure data. The keypad makes it easy to unlock the drive. My computer doesn't have an eSATA connection. However, the USB 2.0 transfers data at a reasonable speed. I moved over 150GB of files from another external drive to this one in only a few minutes.
CON: The drive worked great for a few weeks. Then I accidentally knocked it off the table where it was sitting next to my laptop. The drive never hit the floor because the USB cable caught it. However, it would no longer work. Aegis support offered to replace it. However, I had some very sensitive data on it and could not possibly send it back to them. So, I had to destroy it.
