Just installed Mint 8 on my Dell Mini 9 . I ordered this to install Linux Mint 8 on my Dell Mini 9 netbook. I could boot from it no problem. My Dell Mini 9 could not install Mint using the Default Install or Compatibiliy Mode, because of video problems. I've had problems installing different OS's on this computer before. I tried the OEM Install and was able to install Mint, after hitting <Fn>8 a few times. The install worked ok after that. When the computer rebooted, it did not recognize the wireless network adapter. I have to connect to a wired network to update the hardware drivers.
The USB drive does not look the same as the picture. It is kind of oval shaped instead of rectangular. It also has a retractable USB connector. I think it looks much better than the one in the picture. I would have given it 5 stars if I didn't have problems with the default install.
