Solid discreet fast works with 3TB drives . I just put a 3TB drive in one of these to use as system(s) backup and it's working fine - this was a concern because some external drive enclosures top out at 2TB.

It's as fast as you'd expect with USB 3.0. Drive mounts easily and solidly (with two screws) inside and opening it up is a breeze (two screws in back). Some cheap cases feel flimsy, but this doesn't.

This is minor, but I also like how the power/access indicator is just a tiny little led at the top of the front silver bar. That's it. No random garish blue LEDs burning into your eyes. The case is just a nondescript, quiet, black metal box which won't call attention to itself - but that's exactly what I want.

super fast . Western Digital WD Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN I bought this hard drive not knowing that usb 3.0 was available so I disassembled this hard drive enclosure (the usb 2.0 one) removed the usb 2.0 electronics, installed the hard drive into my new 3.0 usb hard drive enclosure

Buffalo Technology DriveStation SuperSpeed USB 3.0 PCI Express 2-Port Interface Card IFC-PCIE2U3 you need this express card to get 3.0 usb on your laptop with an express card slot.

I tested this hard drive enclosure with the 2tb hard drive installed and got these results:file size: 7.58gb laptop hard drive transfer file to usb 3.0 enclosure time allotted 1.95 minutes (117082ms)61.753mb/sec transfer same file size connecting usb 3.0 cable to usb 2.0 port on laptop : time allotted: 4.25 minutes (255678ms) 26.278mb/sec

Sturdy Construction Works Great! . I only recently learned of Ineo, but this is my second Ineo USB 3.0 drive enclosure. I was impressed enough with my first purchase ineo I-NA201U-Plus, 2.5-Inch Plus Super Speed USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure (Grey) that I gave this 3.5" drive enclosure a try. I installed a new Western Digital 2 TB Caviar Green SATA II Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive - WD20EARS and had the drive and enclosure up and running in no time. Two screws secure the drive to the rails, and two screws secure the drive & rails assembly to the case. It stays cool and runs fast. Initially I wasn't terribly impressed with the plastic stand that allows the drive to sit on its side, but it holds the drive securely. For those who'd prefer to lay the drive flat, however, four rubber feet would be a welcome addition. One other minor complaint is that in Win 7's "Devices & Printers," the drive is named "01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789" whereas my Ineo 2.5" enclosure has a more useful name of "AS2105". I've checked the Ineo web site a few times thinking perhaps they've posted a firmware update to correct this annoyance, but so far not. I haven't bothered to email them though. All in all, I think this is a nice enclosure that works well and holds my drive securely. I'd buy another without hesitation.
Pretty Sharp. . I'm pretty impressed. I had never put a hard drive into an enclosure before. The most important thing is to make sure that the enclosure you buy is appropriate for the hard drive you are going to place in it. I had taken an old hard drive out of a computer that had crashed and I really just wanted to use it as a backup in my newer computer. (I also kind of wanted to find out if the hard drive was the reason that the other computer had crashed.) The ineo I-NA318U-Plus is for an SATA connection. On the back of my hard drive were two long flat connections. (Not the long strips of pins from older drives.) This also set up for a USB 3.0 connection on the computer. I'm not certain if you plugged it into a USB 2.0 if it would function more slowly or not at all. I am running windows 7 on a 6 month old computer so I have USB 3.0. Out of the package all I had to do was unscrew two screws on the box (the outside two), slide it open. Connect the hard drive (really pretty easy, it just slides over the back of the hard drive). Put two screws in the side and slide it back into the box replacing the original two screws. I read another review with concern about the connection to the actual hard drive being relatively flimsy.... I agree it probably is, but once it's put back together I doubt I'll be opening and closing it very often so I'm not really concerned with that at this point. I plugged it in and by the time I got back to the front of the computer it had been detected, installed and was ready for use.Pros: I didn't expect it to be very complicated, but it was really very intuitive and easy. I had to look at the instructions to verify which screws to take out to open it up, but after that it was intuitive enough that I didn't even need instructions. (There are two screws on each side, to open it up you want to remove the outside two.Cons: The USB 3.0 cord is really pretty short. I didn't measure, but 2 feet maybe... I have a USB 3.0 on the front of my computer and another in the rear. If I had used the front, I wouldn't have had enough cord to get to my desk from the computer. In the end I don't see this as too big a deal, it's laying on the floor behind the computer, not in the way and out of sight. (I don't really need to see it).On the whole, I'm impressed with how easy it was to set up and use. If it malfunctions in any way or if in playing around I find anything odd, I'll come back and update this review. If you buy make sure you have a 3.5 inch SATA hard drive. (I googled hard drive connections and looked at pictures to verify mine. If you are buying a hard drive to put in this, then just check when you buy the hard drive.) If you buy this I hope it works out as well for you as it did for me and thanks for taking the time to read my review.
Works Great! . Simple to set up. Simple to use. Works great. This is a very good value...I will order another one. Highly recommended.
great case . Great case for the price runs quietly smooth and with no problems, fits any 3.5 hard drive with 5 gbit/s great for the money comes with all necessary cords as well
Blazing fast . I use this as a cloning unit for my gaming tower and it works very well. The new usb 3.0 is really lightning fast. What usually took 1/2 hour to clone thru a usb 2.0 enclosure now takes minutes.
Good except for very short metal support . Bought after reading some reviews.
Pros:
Price, sleek design, does not leave fingerprints as much as others, not as hot as Vantec NexStar (I have got two of Vantec), support SMART monitoring and Aida disk information unlike the Vantec enclosures, blue USB 3 cable to distinguish it from USB 2 cables, better connection between cable and USB 3 port on computer compared to Vantec's cable.

Cons:
shorter cable than Vantec, treading for the two outside screws on the enclosure: too close to the edge and the first time I pop in the screw, the screw was slanted even before I use the screw driver because the treading was not deep enough before cutting into empty space instead of solid casing so concern with treading erosion but that might not be a problem if one does not open the casing that frequently.

The biggest concern was the very short metal support that one screws the hard drive on. Only about one inch in length from the SATA connection. As a result very filmsy sliding the hard drive onto the metal support and great care must be taken not to bend the support or connectors. Not sure if this would affect the drive over time. The Vantec metal support covers about 3/4 of the drive's length.

Overall, happy with the purchase for now especially with the SMART monitoring and Aida disk information support.

Cons Review
Disappointing product. . I purchased two of these drive enclosures specifically because of the USB 3.0 feature so I could use them with a new Win 7 PC I just built that has USB 3.0 ports on the mobo. The enclosures worked fine at first, but now when I power them up they don't properly recognize the HDDs. I get one of three results when I power up the enclosure: 1) a message that tells me the drive needs to be formatted, 2) Windows sees the drive, but none of the data on it, and I can't access the drive, 3) the drive functions normally. All three conditions happen at random, which makes these enclosures very unreliable. I removed one of the HDDs and connected it to my PC through a hard drive dock and the drive worked perfect and all data was accessible, so I know it's not the HDD. As far as I'm concerned these enclosures are now useless and I'm going to be replacing them with another brand.

Also, I don't think these Ineo enclosure are built as well as some of their other products. I have two Ineo extenal HDD enclosures with USB 2.0/eSATA interfaces and they work great. I've had no problem at all with them. Plus, they're built in such a way as to provide much better cooling then these USB 3.0 enclosures. I would not recommend this product.
