Great USB drive for laptops and car stereos . Finally, the perfect USB drive that you won't snap off. You can "plug & forget" as the manufacturer says on their site.
I bought this for my car stereo that has a front USB port so that 1) I wouldn't have to unplug a USB drive everytime I park and remove the stereo faceplate, 2) wouldn't get snapped off by my hand when I'm trying to change tracks but paying more attention to the road, and 3) wouldn't interfere with the cupholder that is right above the stereo. The black color even matches the stereo.
As for stats/info:
1. I did write speed tests on both drives I bought. One was 7.5MBsp and the other was 9.5MBps, both of which are way faster than the manufacturer's stated speed of 5MBps. Note: my test was simply creating 2 large 4GB files; the manufacturer's speed might be from more typical usage of copying many files of various sizes. I didn't perform read tests.
2. The drive is 19mm long without the cap. Both of mine had a white ring instead of the red ring shown in the photo, but either is fine by me (manufacturer site shows both color options).
3. The drive does have a red activity LED on the end, behind the plastic.
