DataTravelin ***UPDATED 9/29 . I own quite a few USB jump drives, and though they are all small, they don't always seem to be there when I need them. Either because I forgot to bring them with me or I intentionally did not bring them with me because I did not expect to need it.With this drive I can be assured I will always have it with me. Unlike other jump drives, this one is VERY small and makes perfect sense to put on your key ring. The other jump drives are small, but big enough to seem too clunky to be on a key ring. Too big for me anyway. I hate carrying too much stuff with me. So I try and keep my key chain as clutter free as possible. This drive is perfect in that respect. The drive comes formatted in FAT32 which I prefer anyway since I use both Mac and PC frequently and I don't plan on storing files larger than 4GB. So it works out better for me to use FAT32. Transfer speeds seem to be faster compared to my other jump drives. This is the first drive I have owned without the circuit board protection, but it plugs in the same as any other USB jump drive. However, it doesn't seem very easy to open unless you have some length to you finger nails, which I don't. lol. Not a deal breaker though.I will mention this... I have in the past had other jump drives that I placed on my key ring and they never seem to be constructed well enough and wind up braking. Luckily, I noticed when the drives had fallen off and did not lose them, but I'm constantly having to worry when that is going to happen when it comes to placing a jump drive on my key ring. That is not something I would like to have to think about.I thought that the picture of the loop being built into the frame seemed very study compared to other drives. I also made the assumption that it was made out of some sort of metal or steel, but I was wrong. It seems to be a very thin piece of plastic. I'm sure it will hold up better compared to others, but I honestly do not feel it is secure. I can see this eventually breaking in the future, and unlike the other drives that I noticed had fallen off my key ring after breaking, this drive is so small and light that I don't think I will even notice if it was to fall off.I mean, come on now! They're keys! Keys get thrown around, swung around, banged around while their hanging from your ignition, grabbed, dropped, constantly moving, etc. So I do not see why companies do not make a strong, secure loop on their drives to withstand such wear and tear that average keys go through.ProsVERY Small

Not the easiest to open upI would have given this product 5 stars if the lanyard loop felt more sturdy.Overall great drive with a few quirks that I would highly recommend!!***UPDATED 9/29I've owned this product for a while now and I will say that I love it!! Has been so handy as I knew it would. Also, this thing is NOT PLASTIC. It is metallic like. However, it is a VERY thin piece. Thin enough to make it feel like plastic. Also, just as I suspected, the construction doesn't seem to be withstanding the almighty power of the dropped keys scenario. The lid that flaps open on the drive has become loose. It doesn't stay fully closed any longer, but still has a grip to the point it doesn't completely open up. But its still not securely covering the leads on this drive anymore. The part around the loop as well seems to have this line starting to form across it. I was about to buy my family members one and also upgrade to the 16GB version (I currently only own the 8GB), but I think I will let this one play out a little longer to see how it is going to hold up. The lid loosening up just started to happen recently and I have a feeling it might go downhill very quickly. Who knows...it night not just be from the dropping, but maybe even just from opening and closing the lid as you normally would. Maybe even just doing that will eventually loosen it up to the point it is at now. Anyone else experiencing a loosened lid?
nice . This is great since i use it for a car stereo. I needed a small flash drive that was 4GB and this one is perfect.
Kingston DataTraveler 108 4 GB Flash Drive DT108/4GBZ Reviews
top notch . First thing i was impressed how small this is.(size of a quarter or smaller) speed was far above expected. And actualy had 3.9g of storage. All in all great product, so far one of the best usb flash drives i currently have. Great value. Also looks pretty cool, and the cover os aluminum not plastic. would highly recomend for any use.
Kingston DataTraveler 108 4 GB Flash Drive DT108/4GBZ Opinions
So far so good. . I ordered this USB drive to replace an old Kingston jump drive which I've had for at least 4 years. The plastic loop on the end of my old one broke recently when I made the dumb move of trying to pull my keychain out of my pocket by the jump drive. I'm kind of glad it broke though, because it added a fair amount of bulk to my keychain, and this new one is so small that I hardly notice it's even on my key chain.I'm in love with the form factor of this thing. It's incredibly small and slender, which is perfect considering that I carry it around in my pocket all day long. I uploaded some pictures comparing it to my old Kingston and a ball-point pen, so you can get a sense of just how small it is.Before buying it, I read a lot of the reviews here on Amazon (for this one and other 108 models), and most of the criticisms I've seen have been non-issues for me. I don't care that I have to actually pay attention to the direction it's facing when I insert it into a computer's USB port. I've actually found that it goes into the port a lot easier than standard flash drives that have metal housing around the connector, since I don't have to keep flipping it upside down and jamming it into the port until it goes in. It doesn't bother me that there's no LED indicating when it's transferring data -- one of those would have only made it bigger. As long as you don't yank it out while it's transferring data, and make sure to eject the drive before physically removing it, there's no reason why not having an LED should really matter. Also, I didn't have any trouble getting it open, like some people complained about. Just put your fingernail in the indentation on the tip of the plastic part (under the lid), and you'll be good.I do have two criticisms, though -- one small and one that's potentially significant. The smaller of the two is that the flash drive is inconvenient to plug into a laptop's USB port, because when the cover is fully open, the loop on the end of it (and therefore my key ring, too) is on the very bottom of the unit, and therefore the key ring has to fit between the flash drive and my desk. Unless you have an especially thick laptop, or an especially small key ring, this will be slightly inconvenient. But it's not too hard to work around. The (potentially) bigger issue is that I'm not sure how long the spring mechanism that keeps the cover shut will last. Another user's review said that theirs stopped closing securely after they dropped their keys. I've had mine for a couple weeks, and it hasn't showed any indication that it'll do the same, but at the same time I'm being careful not to open it unless I really need to (which isn't too often -- maybe 3-5 times per week), and I'm careful not to drop my keys. Even in a closed position, it does have a slight amount of give to it, so it seems plausible that the mechanism keeping it closed will wear out if I abuse it. But only time will tell whether or not this will become an issue for me, and if so, how long from now that will be. For $7 though, I really can't complain. Back when I bought the flash drive this one is replacing, I think it was $20 for 1GB. If you buy any flash drive from a retail store, you're looking at a minimum of more than twice the price of this unit. Given the fact that this one's tiny size makes it perfect for carrying on my key chain, I would've gladly paid more for it. If the spring mechanism does become an issue in the future, I'll be sure to update this review to let people know.
