Fast Drive . Transferred a 10.90GB file to this drive in 2min39secs.
It does run hot during use both writing and reading. The case is apparently being used to dissipate heat, so you won't see this thing encased in rubber like the XT.
Unless there is some technology to reduce the heat generated at these speeds, I don't foresee faster times.
It is a regular sized stick about 1/8" longer than the XT and about 1/16" thinner. There is no retainer for the cap when in use.
Here are the rest of the stats:
1) WD 1TB Black Caviar HDD 6GB/s
2) Crucial 128GB SSD 6GB/s
File Size.....WriteFrom 1.....ReadTo 1.....WriteFrom 2.....ReadTo 2
1.09GB.........58.8MB/s.......124MB/s........69.8MB/s.......124MB/s
10.90GB........70.4MB/s.......119MB/s........71.3MB/s.......119MB/s
174MB..........43.6MB/s.......120MB/s........58.0MB/s.......120MB/s
I also have a Patriot XT 16GB USB 2.0 which reads at 20MB/s and writes at 11MB/s but was looking for larger capacity and faster transfer times.
There are other USB 3.0 flash drives out there but none as fast.
I am very impressed with this drive and suspect that it will gain popularity real soon as Patriot has already started to cut the price.

Patriot Supersonic 32 GB USB 3.0 High Performance Shock Resistant Flash Drive PEF32GSUSB Reviews
Great Fast HOT Drive (Literally) . This drive lives up to the promise of its speed. It is wicked-fast, even under USB 2.0 mode. And the 64GB size is impressive. But the drive, after its been copying for a while, gets extremely hot, as in difficult to touch-hot. I believe that's due to the aluminum casing acting as a heat dispersal element. Still though, its a little unnerving how hot it can get.

Lives up to the hype . I bought this flash drive because it won the Editor's Choice Award by Tweak town and it received five star reviews on Newegg.com. It performs as promised and lives up to the hype.

more than what I was expected. . This flash is super fast. When I format it as ntfs. I got 100MB/s for both read and write when I copy big files in windows7. Even in the spec it's marked as 75MB/s for writing speed.
if it's formatted in fat32 the speed is about 50MB/s that's acceptable as well. After format the actual size show in windows is 29.xG. If you have some knowledge about k/m/g, you will know where these 3G goes, that's 29.8G=32G/(1024^3).
Only problem is I'm always trying to figure out where did I put the driver's hat. it's small and easy to loss.

One Month In... . One month in, and no trouble so far -- hasn't gotten hot the way the other reviews warn about, not even when I copied gigs of data to it all at once or ran portable apps off of it. Fast as advertized, and I'm impressed with the metal case. I'd've given this 5 stars if it weren't for the already-lost cap and not so much as a loop of cord to hook it on something.
Very Satisfied! . First and foremost... it works. It does what it's supposed to, when it's supposed to. Second, it's fast, real fast. You will have no complaints about performance with this one. It's not flashy looking. It's just a black USB drive. It has a cap that you could possibly misplace instead of a slide out option, but I refused to take a star away for aesthetic reasons. As I said it works great and I really don't anticipate entering my USB drive into a beauty pageant.
nice dependable . if not for the cap thats easy to lose, i would have given this 5 stars....maybe it is because its my first introduction to usb 3.0 technology, but lemme tell u...blazing fast. Had this item for a few months now, not one problem! compatible with every cpu, laptop, n tv i plug it into...great buy...great price
Fast but hot. . Like everybody else has said, drive lives up to said speeds. After formatting this drive and installing windows off of it, it was literally hot enough to burn me if I touched it for more than an instant. Hopefully will not damage drive over time, removed a star because I am uncomfortable leaving it plugged into my hub because of this.
Extremely fast as advertised. . Ordered from Amazon with rebate, good deal.
PROS:
-Brushed aluminum body.
-Cap that stays on well.
-Physical size is small considering capacity and speed.
-USB 3.0 speed, confirmed as advertised using NEC F1 chipset on rear-port of Gigabyte X58-UD3R MB.
CONS:
-Does not come with key ring.
-Gets pretty hot under use, but hopefully won't harm itself.

Cons Review
Corrupt within 3 months of use . No matter how fast a drive is the numbers are meaningless if you can't trust the drive to retrieve your information when you call on it. This piece of S corrupted the index file there by making it unreadable. This happened after I used it to transfer 14GB of HD video files from my Sony Handycam to my back up drive. Upon deleting the files from the flash drive it became unreadable. Every time I try to access the drive, and I've attempted on multiple computers, I am asked to reformat. Of course these weren't the only files on the flash drive meaning for the others I am now left sifting through the mess wasting hours of time with a recovery program to try and retrieve back those files which I hadn't backed up. More disappointing is that I take care of my drives. I always use the eject feature and if it says that it is still in use I log off to end whatever background program is still accessing the drive.
In short, don't waste your time with this piece of S. Look for something more reliable.
