A worthy decision . The StorCenter px4-300r Network Storage Array arrived in a neatly packed box and it contained UTP cable, power cable and four Hitachi 2TB disks that were configured in RAID 5. Since it was RAID configured the storage space available for use was only 5.4TB. Cool, no issues. The installation process was simple as I needed to plug in the UTP cable and the power cable and switch on the unit. Then I checked the dhcp server for IP address. Using this I was able to activate the web interface which threw up a host of management options. In this I created around 500 GB of iSCSI volume, setting iSCSI was so simple. Since I was very particular about performance I opted for the rackmount model and it proved a worthy decision.

When I say advanced it means the CPU and memory is a notable improvement. The device comes with removable disk caddies that help to add 2.5" form factor SSD disks. The device enables Active Directory Support and allows me to remotely access my data. PX4 facilitates cross platform file sharing as it supports Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. Moreover PX4 supports all major protocols. This also supports cloud technology and hence sharing files has become a child's play. All my data is secure with data replication and device to device transfer of data. It is definitely a must have for SMBs.
