Floppy Helper . For those who are in the need of extra storage, we often tend to use today CD burners, and storage from small hard drives. For those who have older computers, desktops or laptops, we need to find convient methods of coverting files from computer to computer. This external floppy disk drive is very convient and easy to connect, without the need of external power. This extrenal floppy disk drive is a great drive that you can use to store all of yor important files from your older computer, and transfer them into your newer model. It is inexpensive, convient, and easy to hookup. This is also much more essential for newer desktop and especially laptop computers that don't even have floppy disk drives. I really recommend this for anybody who needs a extra disk drive.

External Slim USB Floppy Disk Drive Reviews
Perfect for using and reviewing old 3.5in floppy disks. . Been needing a quick and easy way to download old data left on 3.5in floppy disks. The lightweight external drive installs quickly and easily to a USB port. Its slim size and weight is just what I needed for occasional use.

Cons Review
Do NOT buy this product unless you want the "free" bundled virus! . I purchased this item the past weekend at a local reputable computer store. (I try to support local merchants whenever possible before turning to online sources.) So, why write a review on Amazon? Because they sell it here, too, and I consider my experience an alarming enough matter to feel obliged to warn others.
Imagine my dismay to discover that not only was the unit nonfunctional/dead, wasting several hours of my weekend in a vain attempt to get it to work, but it came generously bundled with a free VIRUS on the installation/driver disk!
I am baffled as the box was sealed and so was the disk inside, so the only explanation is that it was a "factory-installed" virus. It is actually burned onto the installation disk. My McAfee freaked and warned me in time, but when I researched the virus by name, I discovered it is a virulent one. Old by viral standards, but perfectly capable of bringing your system to its knees.
So not only was I disappointed and annoyed by the fact the floppy drive was toast out of the box (no matter what I did or what disk I tried, it kept saying "please insert disk" over and over). My computer recognized (saw) the floppy drive but the light on the floppy never came on, nor did it make any noise as if trying to read a disk. Supposedly it is USB plug and play with XP, but that certainly was not my experience. My last-ditch effort was to download the driver from the manufacturer's web site, but I found even that file was corrupt when I unzipped it.
Please seriously reconsider buying ANYTHING from this manufacturer, if my experience is an example of their quality control.
**UPDATED** Product was immediately returned to the local store, and a technician there examined the Manhattan installation disk and verified that the virus code was indeed burned onto the disk. The store (to their credit) immediately pulled all stock they had of this product from the shelves. While they established a virus was indeed on the disk, the tech said it may not have been deliberate malice but may have been due to something like a Manhattan employee listening to their mp3 player while burning CDs, and perhaps resulting in cross-contamination. My warning still stands to prospective buyers of this product.
