Ironkey S200 4G . Ironkey set me on the path to recovering privacy & anonymity online. The product is the standard by which all others are measured. Personal S200 4G It is not meant to used for streaming music and downloading torrents. For that, checkout TorrentFreedom. A one year subscription costs about the same as Ironkey. The one caveat: it's been a year since I last updated my Ironkey software and anymore I believe "if it's not broken don't fix it." However, their technical support is terrific and the usb chip-encryption coupled with portable firefox gave me email privacy at work. The onboard password program greatly increased my efficiency since I have to sign in to numerous websites during my shift. The cap can be attached to a lanyard device, important if you're constantly interrupted at work. My biggest nightmare is leaving the Ironkey in the computer at work, but fortunately is has to be locked in order to sign off. You'll find that some websites won't let you make purchases when they can't read your IP number. However, I dare you to find eBay's policy in writing or even get them to acknowledge an inquiry. Nevertheless, they're quick to tell you you're committing fraud. Like yeah! Go buy a dictionary on Amazon.com, eBay!
Personal S200 4G Reviews
Well made secure and feature rich . We bought the Ironkey S200 2G version, but thought this review might help all Ironkey buyers.

Obviously this device is not inexpensive, but if you want added security then this is the best. The key is very easy to use; because the key will self-destruct after only 10 failed attempts a password of moderate strength is all that is required. The on-board Identity Manager is a very good App, but did not transfer all of my passwords from Roboform, which I highly recommend. I installed Roboform2Go. Roboform2Go is resident on the key, it produces random passwords and has its own encryption, giving 2 layers of encryption for passwords and safenotes, another great feature. Would have given the Ironkey 5 stars if the included Identity Manager worked better.

The on-board version of Firefox is not only more secure, but with a password manager everything needed to more safely do business on the web is always available. All of this still leaves plenty of room to store sensitive financial and personal identity documents and information. And all of this is unavailable as soon as the key is locked and removed from the computer.

Finally a portable and secure password keeper, document vault, and browser.

BTW, also recommend adding the BetterPrivacy add-on to help keep the key clean. BetterPrivacy removes LSO's (Local Shared Objects); LSO's are very similar to cookies, but are not removed by Firefox.

From Wikipedia:

"LSOs can be used by web sites to collect information on how people navigate those web sites even if people believe they've restricted the data collection.[4] More than half of the internet's top websites use LSOs to track users and store information about them.[5] There is relatively little public awareness of LSOs, and they can usually not be deleted by the cookie privacy controls in a web browser.[5] This may lead a web user to believe a computer is cleared of tracking objects, when it is not.[5]"

Update:

First, Ironkey support is great! After backing up my Ironkey, I attempted to update the device; this caused an irreparable error. Called support, after looking for info in forums, and they requested a copy of my receipt, sent them a copy, an RMA was approved in a couple of days, and a replacement arrived a few days after that, all very quick and painless. They even followed up to ensure everything was OK. They assured me that their engineers had resolved the issue and there would be no problem with future updates.

The new device was initiated and the encrypted backup was restored without a problem to the new Ironkey. Within a few weeks another update became available, after backing up again, I went ahead with the new update, and, much to my relief, the update went smoothly!

Many thanks to Ironkey, Ironkey support, and their engineers. This is a great product and the company understands that in the end, support is how a customer base is retained and expanded!
Personal S200 4G Opinions
Secure as it gets . I trust the security of this device. It is the only place to which I trust online banking information. Capacity is more than enough for confidential files. The password manager works for most basic logins but still has trouble with two page logins like online banking. I love the ability to add portable apps. If you need more, consider installing RoboForm2Go on it.
decent . I got this thing because I wanted to be able to store information that I normally keep at home upon my person. Things like bank information passwords etc. Using this as an encrypted drive works well.

4 stars vs 5 because the included browser is slow and somewhat difficult to use. By difficult I mean that it requires you to close any existing firefox windows you may have open and it only works within windows operating systems. At first I thought "Brilliant! No more storing passwords in a text file (even if it is encrypted) this thing will enter them for me!" I can take it wherever I go. But not to work where I use linux and not on my laptop where I use linux. Not much point in being able to take it with me wherever I go when I can't even open it to see the passwords at two most common places I would use it. Note: it also doesn't work in osx.

This being said, the encrypted storage side of things works great under windows linux and osx.

If you are only a windows user, great!, otherwise make sure you don't plan on using the built browser/password manager.

Since then I've moved on to using KeePass and KeePassX (under linux) for password management. I store a copy of my password database on the iron key. Since it is already encrypted, placing it on the encrypted iron key is definitely overkill, but who cares, I feel safe.

Cons Review
great idea no customer support . This drive seemed like a great idea. However, they are not responsive to technical problems. Because of malfunction, I can not enter an online tech support question. Just forget them even answering a question in person. There is a tech support item on their phone line, but no one ever picks up or returns a message. I would love for this drive to work, but without a bit of tech support, I seem to have an expensive piece of flashy metal like substance.
This IronKey is NOT really compatible with MACs - since the FF web browser is not availabe! . Despite claims to the contrary by IronKey itself, this product is not really compatible with MACs because the FireFox browser is not provided and can not be downloaded onto an IronKey operating on a MAC!

I purchased this after reading IronKey's own website description and when I contacted them they gave me the run around and never replied to my call or email.

A close friend of mine started a now well-established Silicon Valley tech company and he informs me that the CEO and Product Management team at IronKey are notorious for ignoring all questions that they don't want to address. He also tells me that they are known for their extreme arrogance and disdain for those they deem less brilliant. Based on other IronKey product reviews right here at Amazon I'd have to agree, since so many people have experienced their poor customer service first hand.

Jerk alert - buyers beware!
