A great little dongle . I love the form factor - install it, leave it, and it's there when you need it.
Raised rating from 4 to 5 stars on July 16.
Fast sequential speeds -
July 6, 2011-Entire card FAT32
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 6.03 MByte/s
Reading speed: 10.5 MByte/s
July 6, 2011-Entire card NTFS
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 6.25 MByte/s
Reading speed: 10.7 MByte/s
July 16, 2011-Entire card exFAT
Test finished without errors.
Writing speed: 6.55 MByte/s
Reading speed: 11.3 MByte/s
Random speeds were not fast enough for Readyboost until I formatted it to exFAT.
This is a nice product. Verbatim could improve it by using a faster chip like they use in their Tuff n Tiny. I would also like to see a 32GB version.
What a super little gift this would be!

Verbatim Store 'n' Stay 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive 97464 (Black) Reviews
Great . I wanted a USB flash drive that I could use as ReadyBoost on my Win 7 laptop. I have a Scandisk 8GB USB drive that works well with ReadyBoost, but it gets on the way and had to be unplugged before the laptop was placed in the computer bag. This Verbatim USB 2.0 Flash Drive is an excellent choice as it doesn't get on the way, even when the laptop is stored in the computer bag. Note that it's formatted as FAT32 from the manufacture. If you want to use it as ReadyBoost simply perform a "quick" format to NTFS.

Functional . I wanted a low profile USB stick to use in my car radio. This fit the bill. I bought 2 of them. The only issue I have with it is that on one of the items, the black plastic surrounding the electronics came off. It didn't affect the functionality, but makes me wonder about the quality.

Super tiny and they work . I've purchased several of these and love their small size. The users of the drives also love them because they are unobtrusive and they can leave them connected even when the put their laptop in their bag. Even though they are so tiny, it is still easy to remove the drive.
So tiny! . I wanted this to use with my Acer Andriod tablet. Since it is so small, I can just leave it plugged in and access the files on it directly, without having to copy them. 16GB is nice, but I wish it was available in 32GB or 64GB.
tiny pendrive . this is a perfect gift for for those persons who are a complete mess with their cars, and want to keep music into theirs dvd players, this way the wouldnt be able to brake any more usb flash devices...
Fantastic Product . I purchased two of these for two Ford Escape's that my family own. The main reason was due to older drivers that do not want to complicate their lives with MP3 devices but want to take advantage of not carting around a 100 CD inventory in their car. The 8 GB flavor of this product could not have been easier. The advantage to senior's and non-tech savy customers cannot be understated. 1. The micro physical size allows a low profile. Less chance to be noticed by potential thieves. Less chance to be accidentally removed.
2. The large memory size will allow approximately 8000 minutes of music (2000 if at a high bit rate). Tech support (ie family members that originally set it up) can do it all at once and never have to worry about it.
3. For those slightly more experienced users, the interface is easy. You have a blank shell when inserted into any OS PC. Just dump the mp3's onto the jump drive and your done.
4. Price. $14 and change with free shipping for 8 GB? That's beyond economical, that's a steal.Thank you so much for making my life and my families just a little bit easier. And fun.

Love it . I love the small size and rounded corners. I use it for Ready Boost so I leave it in all the time. I can't say how long it will last, but so far it's great.
Great Product! . I was looking for something small form factor for my car stereo's USB port, I was using a regular size USB flash drive before but there was chance of coincidentally breaking the port. I looked for some small form factor drive and found this one. The size is good and the capacity is fine to hold a good size of your mp3 songs. Shipping was fast and have no problems with my purchase.
Cons Review
Small but painfully slow . This review is for the 16Gb version.
I purchased this to run a couple flavors of live Linux on my netbook. It is very small and fits well, not difficult to remove and doesn't snag on anything. That's where the good part ends though.
The transfer rates are horrible on this memory. Using Linux Mint 10 and transferring a 1.1 Gb iso file of Debian rates were as follows.
Write speeds when formated as FAT32 started out at 8.9 MB/s and dropped to 5.9 by the end of the transfer. When formated as Ext3 it started out at 8.5 MB/s and dropped off to 4.5 by the end.
Read speeds were 10.0 - 10.3 for FAT32 and Ext3
Other USB drives were as follows:
Write speeds for the Patriot XT 16Gb started at 16.9 and fell to 12.1 in FAT32 and about the same for Ext3 give or take .1
Read speeds on the Patriot were 28.3 - 28.8 as FAT32 and about the same for Ext3 again.
All my other USB keys (several Sandisk and PNY) fell somewhere in the middle to low end of the spread.
I knew that the speeds were not going to be anywhere near the Patriot speeds, but I certainly expected better from Verbatim. It's possible that this could be bad memory, I'm not sure. Data retention is fine, never a crash or any loss at all, the speed just sucks. Since I bought this to run an operating system, it needs to be faster than what it is. This item will be going back.
