I love it but it's far from perfect and not for everyone . Why I love it:
- Value: I set out to buy the 1T, but the price difference to double it to a 2T was irresistible (no regrets - in 4 months I'm getting close to completing my first "T");
- It reads all video files and has no problem reading separate subtitle files;
- Fast uploading and downloading;
- Excellent to browse through video files (it keeps a running clip on the left corner with both audio and video while the list of video files still appears on the right. You can start it from the beginning or from where the clip is at);
- If you don't unplug it from the outlet, it will keep track of where you were in a video file (in many, many video files at a time).
Why it is far from perfect:
- There's a delay between pressing a button and getting something actually done (when watching a video file, this can be quite annoying);
- The HDMI cord that 'comes with' is too short (investing in a good one helps considerably with the remote control delay, but does not solve it completely);
- Fast forwarding can be a little frustrating 'till you get the hang of it, rewinding is even worse;
- Really terrible to browse through photos (long delays between clicks).
Is this the device for you?

850+ movies and counting . This is a really cool product. A buddy of mine had one so he was able to transfer overr 850 movies onto mine. There is probably room for another 50 to 60. Its plug and play...easy to use and great for consolidating your movie collection. Now I can sell all my dvds and my apt wont look like a asian teenagers college dorm. Amazon did take almost a month to ship it to me because it was lost in the mail or something, but I didn't really care about that...it happens.

I would buy this 100 times! . Excellent! Very small, stylish, plenty of codecs supported, a lot of space, nice graphic interface, very easy to use, high definition 1080, supports another external hard drive or flash drive though usb for more space, optical sound output, hdmi, extremely quiet. DONT STAY AWAY BUY! . I promised myself that when i receive this drive im definitely going to test it out and review because all i find is bad reviews. lemme just say its PERFECT! it did take an hour to set up with network but i think it was just my inexperience with network drives. Its working flawless and i love it. I got the 2TB one, fastest upload speed yet is 3mb/s. I had a mybook previous to this hard drive and needed more space so upgraded to this. Great product i recommend it.

Super media player . When I was choosing a media player, I mostly wanted something that would read as many file formats as possible. A friend has recommended LaCinema, and I'm very happy I took the advice. The device reads all files perfectly, there hasn't been a single problem with any file extension so far. Overall, the player works great - it is fast and has a very nice interface.
Outstanding device! . After buying a fantastic new large screen HDTV last year, I decided to get as well a decent media player, as I got fed up of watching photos and videos on the laptop screen. I've chosen Lacinema because it reads a lot of different file formats and has a simple yet attractive design. I have not been disappointed. The device is awesome and works like a charm. I'm impressed with the image and sound quality, and the overall ease of use. Highly recommended!

works like a charm . I've been using my Lacinema almost every day since I've got it several months ago. And I love this device! It made my life so much easier. I used to connect an external hard drive to to watch stuff on my notebook. Well I'm happy this is over now and I can enjoy the full HD TV screen quality thanks to LaCinema. The video/audio quality is just awesome. The device is very user-friendly and works like a charm. Highly recommended.
Excellent features . This unit has positively surprised me. The firmware is slick in design and works pretty well. It also includes a Transmissions client which allows you to add torrent files for direct download of media to the drive.
The remote is small and functional, with all the common functions you need. Surprisingly quiet and fast in response. I love the video preview feature in the list of video files. An excellent choice.

Great as long as you are patient and know the difference between NTSC and PAL . One of the big cons this device has is that even though they are shipping them to North America a lot (or at least mine) come set to PAL by default. When I hooked this up via HDMI I just got a message from my TV that the device wasn't supported. I eventually figured I'd try the ol' analog component cables. That sort of worked. You get a rolling grey scale screen. I had to literally take pictures of my screen with a camera to see what it said since it was rolling so quick. Eventually I got through the menus to change the video output to NTSC. Once I did that I could hook it up with HDMI and get a great picture and audio with great format support. The device is lacking gigabit ethernet support so while its on the network you're only going to get 100Mb/s
