Ubuntu USB flash drive. . Boots up no trouble. Make sure you put USB first in boot sequence in BIOS. Shipping and service and price were excellent. You can then down load onto hard drive if you want.

Cons Review
Wonder what the case costs? . I don't think this Ubuntu will run on a 4GB flashrom. They sent an 8GB flashrom, well at least the guts of one....
The hardware appears to be the OEM guts of a Sandisk flashrom, sans the protective case that's supposed to be around the outside of this unlabeled metal box. What you see in the pix IS what you get, but it's NOT a regular USB flashdrive, just the electronics in the internal shield of one. The plastic case is missing. They must buy these really cheap as OEM parts by the thousands.
I'm running Ubuntu for Netbook on the flashdrive guts on a Samsung NC10 Atom netbook with 2GB of RAM. On the 8GB flashrom guts, if you run the UPDATE MANAGER, it fails every time as there is insufficient drive space on the 8GB flashrom to install the 355 updates this old version of Ubuntu needs to be current, 170 of which are security updates that really need to be done. Running off the 8GB flashrom guts, therefore, won't work. You'll have to use it as it comes without updating it to the current bugfixes unless you allow it to install on your hard drive.
I gave it 2 stars because it did boot but won't upgrade. Seller should have upgraded Ubuntu BEFORE dumping it onto the flashdrive. The version is over a year old, 406 days, today. They need to stop copying the old system onto these flashdrive guts and download a new Ubuntu each week that MAY have enough space left to upgrade on the plug.
Save yourselves some grief and download NEW Ubuntu for Netbooks directly off the net for free and install it. Then, buy a WHOLE 8GB flashdrive for lots less money from Amazon or someplace cheaper, if you need one.
