DataTravelin ***UPDATED 9/29 . I own quite a few USB jump drives, and though they are all small, they don't always seem to be there when I need them. Either because I forgot to bring them with me or I intentionally did not bring them with me because I did not expect to need it.With this drive I can be assured I will always have it with me. Unlike other jump drives, this one is VERY small and makes perfect sense to put on your key ring. The other jump drives are small, but big enough to seem too clunky to be on a key ring. Too big for me anyway. I hate carrying too much stuff with me. So I try and keep my key chain as clutter free as possible. This drive is perfect in that respect. The drive comes formatted in FAT32 which I prefer anyway since I use both Mac and PC frequently and I don't plan on storing files larger than 4GB. So it works out better for me to use FAT32. Transfer speeds seem to be faster compared to my other jump drives. This is the first drive I have owned without the circuit board protection, but it plugs in the same as any other USB jump drive. However, it doesn't seem very easy to open unless you have some length to you finger nails, which I don't. lol. Not a deal breaker though.I will mention this... I have in the past had other jump drives that I placed on my key ring and they never seem to be constructed well enough and wind up braking. Luckily, I noticed when the drives had fallen off and did not lose them, but I'm constantly having to worry when that is going to happen when it comes to placing a jump drive on my key ring. That is not something I would like to have to think about.I thought that the picture of the loop being built into the frame seemed very study compared to other drives. I also made the assumption that it was made out of some sort of metal or steel, but I was wrong. It seems to be a very thin piece of plastic. I'm sure it will hold up better compared to others, but I honestly do not feel it is secure. I can see this eventually breaking in the future, and unlike the other drives that I noticed had fallen off my key ring after breaking, this drive is so small and light that I don't think I will even notice if it was to fall off.I mean, come on now! They're keys! Keys get thrown around, swung around, banged around while their hanging from your ignition, grabbed, dropped, constantly moving, etc. So I do not see why companies do not make a strong, secure loop on their drives to withstand such wear and tear that average keys go through.ProsVERY Small
VERY Light weight
Stylish
Fast
Doesn't take up much room on your key ring

Not the easiest to open upI would have given this product 5 stars if the lanyard loop felt more sturdy.Overall great drive with a few quirks that I would highly recommend!!***UPDATED 9/29I've owned this product for a while now and I will say that I love it!! Has been so handy as I knew it would. Also, this thing is NOT PLASTIC. It is metallic like. However, it is a VERY thin piece. Thin enough to make it feel like plastic. Also, just as I suspected, the construction doesn't seem to be withstanding the almighty power of the dropped keys scenario. The lid that flaps open on the drive has become loose. It doesn't stay fully closed any longer, but still has a grip to the point it doesn't completely open up. But its still not securely covering the leads on this drive anymore. The part around the loop as well seems to have this line starting to form across it. I was about to buy my family members one and also upgrade to the 16GB version (I currently only own the 8GB), but I think I will let this one play out a little longer to see how it is going to hold up. The lid loosening up just started to happen recently and I have a feeling it might go downhill very quickly. Who knows...it night not just be from the dropping, but maybe even just from opening and closing the lid as you normally would. Maybe even just doing that will eventually loosen it up to the point it is at now. Anyone else experiencing a loosened lid?
Kingston DataTraveler 108 8 GB Flash Drive DT108/8GBZ Reviews
Really great! . Idk what people are talking about, its extremely easy to open and very nice and sleek.Only problem with mine is a small thing that i just get annoyed with. The little bent metal for the keyring makes it wierd because its not too much room to move the usb around. It should have a little metal loop attached!
Thats the only con... which isn't even really a con! Long story short: Cheap usb thats worth the price. I'd buy again anytime.
A nice small flash drive for backup . I use this small item in the car, it is pretty convenient. The read speed is about 20 MB/s, but for $7 and 8 Gb it is still good enough.
Kingston DataTraveler 108 8 GB Flash Drive DT108/8GBZ Opinions
great product . it's a very good product. i highly recommend it. I'm very satisfied. Since I have it, i'vebeen able to take my information back and forth with no trouble at all
Great little device durable fast and very convenient . This is a great little flash drive, its surprisingly fast for how small it is (I was getting 20mb/s read speed) and right around 10mb/s write speed.
Its so small it fits easily on my keychain though I do wish it came with a small lanyard of sorts (it doesn't).
For the price, you can't go wrong, now I'll always have a mode of transport with me thats quicker than emailing things to myself. The fold open cover is so easy to get open it makes this little gizmo perfect.EDIT:
Been using this Flash drive on my Car keychain which is with me all day since I bought this back in early september. Still works fine, holds data perfectly and it's been extremely convenient. Some other reviews had said it was not a metal cover... It is, and it protects it very well (I've dropped my keys a couple times with the flash drive on it, still works perfectly).
Very small and portable . The drive is very small and portable, fits perfectly on your keychain. It is smaller than the size of a key so you never feel it in your pockets.

The drive doesn't have the metal housing that is around normal pherpherals so care has to be taken when plugging it in.

The cover is aluminum and feels pretty sturdy, pretty sure it'll protect the drive just fine. The bottom of the drive is not covered. The plastic has marks on it from sticking it in my very tight usb port. My computer is new which is why it is pretty tight.

Transfer speed is good. 10MB/s when transfering one big file, of course multiple smaller files will be slower.

I didn't have any problem opening the drive, when you look at the drive from the end that plugs in, there is a hole for your finger nails to go in and open the drive up. I got it open in one go.

When the drive is formatted FAT32 it has 7.44GB of free space. No, they didn't cheaped out and gave you less than 8GB, the file system takes up space too! :)

CONS:
The only con is the preloaded U3 style program. Autoplay is off on my computer so I never experienced it's horrors. Within 10 seconds of the flash drive being in my computer it was formatted and the contents removed.

OVERVIEW:
I would recommend this flash drive to a friend for a keychain. However, Since it's pretty delicate without the metal housing, I wouldn't recommend for people who are more brutal with their electronics.
You won't lose the cap! . Nice design. Just pull the aluminum cover up to reveal the USB connector. It is small and light but not so small that you'll lose it.I tested it using AJA System Test:
- 10.6 MB/s Write
- 21.1 MB/s ReadNote: there is no activity light.
it's a great compact drive . I love tiny USB flash drives. I used to carry flash drives on my key chain back when they are 128megs. I have lost a couple of them because either the the key ring hook was shabby or the ring hook was attached to the cover instead of the drive itself. This will not have the same problem as the key hole ring is attached strongly on the drive and constructed in aluminum. Not super fast but it performs decently. Still, my favorite is the Tiny and Tuff or the Super Talent in terms of small size. This drive on the other hand is much cheaper (at the time of this review) while still considered small. And it has a covering to protect the contacts.
small and concise . perfectly what I wanted! the fifth star is because I didn't like the "pinky" color, and the one that I received is Red! :D Performance is well. I use a mac so I don't participate of the PC oriented features (which I hate). If you're the kind of person the abruptly remove usb device from your computer don't by this because it is kind of delicate
Awesome USB drive works great. . This is the best USB drive I've had so far & it's tiny, which makes it perfect for carrying on a keyring. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a USB drive.
