Perfect except for support . I have had my zip drive for a while now. I purchased the external type so I could swap it between my laptop and desktop. I use it to backup data along with having the capability to read disks that are sent to me by clients and workmates.So far I have not had any major problems I could not work out with the zip drive. The one drawback I have found is that Iomega's Web site is not very clear at times.Otherwise for me on both a Windows 98 and 2000 system it has been simple plug and play!

Works well with Win95/98/Me.You may have a slight installation problem with WinNT and Win2000 but fear not latest drivers are available on the manufactures website. Excellent for large data transfers between computers. CDR's and RW's are neat for music and data backup but Zip drives go a long way when transferring files.

Very Easy Install . Wow, I have been wanting one of these for quite a while, as a back-up/file transfer drive. The installation could not have been easier, with the USB connection. Using the drive is simple too, with just a copy and paste I was able to transfer many files from my hard drive in minutes. Definitely worth the price!

one good zip drive! . I needed to be able to have a way to expand my hard drive, and the cheapest way was to get zip drive. It is fast and easy to install, it took me about two minuets. It works great!

Not the most elegant solution but it does the job . I've never found Zip drives to be very speedy, despite the name, but this particular drive is quite slow and quite loud. However, in its defense, it is extremely reliable even though I've dropped it and knocked it over several times. It doesn't take up much space on my desk. It is so lightweight and flat that I can throw it in the pocket of my laptop case and take it anywhere. The Zip disk has been a good solution for me in terms of sharing files between my desktop and laptop, and this drive is an adequate, reliable, affordable way to do that.

Useful Data Storage and File Transfer . This unit is identified by its sleek rounded dark blue case. It has a separate power supply. The Model Number is ZIP100USBNC. It can operate either horizontally or vertically (like a floppy drive). This model is treated as a USB Mass Storage Device so you must use Windows Me or later. You must select the icon to "Unplug or Eject Hardware" to remove this device. The IOMEGA software should be installed on Windows 2000. If the unit does not have an eject button on the drive you must select the EJECT command from the Properties menu. It is good to do this all the time because of the disk caching system.

The "User's Manual" warns against using the Operating System to copy a disk. Use the Iomega "Copy Machine" program. Right click on the ZIP drive to select the Iomega "Format" function. Use "Short Format" to delete all data on an Iomega disk. The "Long Format" repairs a drive with errors, converts from another format, or removes all passwords. "Write Protection" protects against writing over data, a password can protect against both reading and writing files. You can also flag the ZIP drive as "non-removable" so it appears like a hard drive. The manual has the details.

Computers have a limited number of IDE devices and drive bays so a separate storage device is practical. Replaceable 100 MB ZIP disks provided vast storage in the past but are no longer the latest in storage technology. But the 100 MB ZIP disk is almost as universal as the floppy disk when you have a parallel port drive for older systems. The ZIP disks reuse deleted space unlike a CD whose space is consumed when you replace files. Falling prices for CD discs solve that problem. A ZIP disk has no compatibility problems between different systems and computers. A CD written on one system may not be updated by a different system.

Unserviceable . The product was unserviceable. The first time I inserted a card, it would not do anything. When I tried to eject it, it got locked inside and would not release it. I had to tear it apart to release the card. I would not buy from these people again.

Very Useful But Slightly Dangerous . A year ago, I would have cheerfully told you that there was no reason for anyone to waste money on a Zip drive. The largest capacity model then available was the 250, which was less than half of what a CD-RW could hold. CD burners were shipping pretty much as standard on all new computers. I grudgingly shelled out the money for a Zip drive on my new machine only because I needed some way of transferring data from the old one, which had a Zip 100 drive but no CD burner.It didn't take me long to realize what a very wise investment I'd made. I prefer to synchronize my important documents and system settings using something like Windows Briefcase (barely useful) or Scooter Software's "Beyond Compare", which does a tremendous job of not only synchronizing files and entire directory trees, but scanning each file byte-by-byte for any signs of changes and/or corruption. It's very easy to update or repair any file the program flags.What I discovered very quickly was that CD-RW drives were utterly worthless for this task. It didn't matter whether I used Roxio's "Direct CD", which came with the computer, or Nero's much-touted "InCD". The former constantly and reliably corrupted my data, while the latter just as reliably crashed my computer every time I tried it. Windows XP has built-in CD-writing software, but it is useless for the kind of file synchronization that I do."You can treat your CD just like a giant floppy!!!" Yeah, right! Nice try, guys!Worse yet, as I troubleshooted Roxio's software, I discovered their nasty little secret. CDs created under Version 4 of "Direct CD" could not be read by Version 5, and people running Windows XP couldn't load Version 4 without crashing their computers. I wondered: What would happen when Version 6 came out?So suddenly I found myself using that Zip 250 as my main means of file backup, along with a spare external hard drive. But, of course, 250 MB is not, by today's standards, a great deal of space. I needed three disks to do the job, and these were almost full. Plus, the Zip drive was painfully slow.Thus, when Iomega announced their new Zip 750, I took immediate notice. I have actually worked with two of these devices. The one at work is a USB 2.0 model running on Windows 2000, while the one at home, running on Windows XP Home, is the nearly identical FireWire model featured on this page.Setup of the FireWire device on Windows XP is very simple. You plug it into your FireWire port, wait for Windows Plug-and-Play to recognize it, then insert a Zip 750 disk and start working. Windows XP has built-in support for Zip drives, so you don't need to install anything from the included CD for basic file system operations. If, however, you want to write- or password-protect your Zip disk, you'll have to install Iomega Tools from the CD. They also offer a basic file backup utility. Since I haven't done anything with these, I can't comment on how well they work.I started using the Zip 750 at home on December 10th of last year, and basically I've been very happy with it. While not as fast as a hard drive, it's certainly a major improvement over the Zip 250. I have yet to see one file be corrupted, and "Beyond Compare" has done literally dozens of very thorough scans on my backups. This is the very first time in my nearly 20 years of working with PCs that I can say with reasonable certainty that my backups are secure.One performance bottleneck I've encountered is, according to Iomega's web site, due to the way Windows XP operates. Namely, copying (or comparing) large numbers of small files is drastically slower than copying small numbers of large files, even if the overall byte count is the same. So I use PKZip in a few places to create larger archives for faster copying.The only reason I don't give this drive five stars is because of a dangerous design flaw. This is a very handsome-looking drive with a bright, shiny, metal plate on top. Unfortunately, said metal is an excellent conductor of static electricity. The very night I installed the drive on my home computer, I zapped it with my finger while attempting to insert a disk. This immediately knocked the drive off-line, and nothing but turning the computer off, then back on, would get Windows to recognize it again. My heart about stopped until I was satisfied that no permanent damage was done, either to the drive or to the computer.Considering how light the drive is, there is no way to avoid touching it while doing an insert. Otherwise it simply slides backwards as you push.The solution? Decidedly low-tech! I powered everything down, unplugged the drive, took that handy little anti-static bag the thing shipped in, wrapped it around the drive, and Scotch-taped it in place! Since then, I've had peace of mind and no problems at all!The Zip 750 will reliably read and write the older Zip 250 disks (albeit more slowly), and will even read (but not write to) my ancient Zip 100 disks. Unlike some of those CD writing programs, Iomega takes backward compatibility seriously.So, if you want speed and reliability, this drive is well worth the money.

A solid product . I ordered the zip 750 to go with a new computer, that would no longer recognize my old, parallel port zip 100. Overall, i have been extremely pleased with the drive. The 750 mb disks are massive, compared to my old 100mb disks. With the firewire connection, it is as fast or faster than another zip i have with a atapi connection. There are only a few things that prevent this drive from recieving five stars. Fist, in order to connect it to a computer with a four-pin port, you need to call iomega and ask them to send you a power supply. Although they send the adapter quickly, and it is free, the additional step is a pain. Another problem i encountered is that the drive only comes with a six pin cord. If you want to attach the drive to a computer with a four pin port, be ready to shell out another thirty bucks for another cord. Although this should be no suprise, for some reason, the new drives can read but not write the old disks. It is evidently clear on the packaging that this is the case, but i still am frequently annoyed by that. My final complaint is that occasionally, on startup, windows XP does not immeadiatly recognize the drive. If you pull out the chord, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in, the drive is accesible. Agian, not a serious problem but an occasional hassle.Other than these minor problems, the zip 750 drive is an exceptional piece of equipment, and a true heir to this long line of sturdy, well designed storage devices.

Cons Review

Was not new . This was supposed to be new and it was obviously not. The eject button was broken and there were scratches on it inicating it had been used before. It does work and will serve my purposes but I will never order anything from this seller again. Note it was not Amazon that sold the product but Amazon represents the seller.

Iomega 250 MB ZIP POWERED EXTERNAL DRIVE USB and Parallel . Had problems with the machine and sent it back to the vendor. Vendor was great about taking it back and we worked out a solution to my problem. I needed some zip disk converted to CD and the vendor was able to help me with the conversion.

Superb! . I needed an external drive in a hurry, and initially turned to external CD burners. However, after reading numerous reviews across a variety of sites, it quickly became obvious that none of the external burners were up to the task. According to reviews, most of them (HP 8000 series, Iomega Predator, etc...) suffered from reliability problems, and to exacerbate the matter further, transfer speeds were reportedly slow. Hence, in desperation, I turned to other forms of storage. To my delight, Iomega's Zip 250 USB/Firewire drive has performed excellently! I haven't had a chance to test out the firewire capability, but all I can say is that I am extremely pleased with its USB performance! I have successfully transferred all my files from my work computer (running on Windows NT) to my home computer (running on Windows 98), and there have been no software or reliability issues at all. Good going, Iomega! Now, if only they could pull their stock out of the pits........

not what I expect from a firewire/usb product . After first getting a USB portable zip and found it to be extremely slow, I returned it and bought a firewire Iomega zip. As I need it to be portable, I don't want it to require a power adapter. I was dismayed when I found out that the USB version requires a power adapter. While the firewire one does not, it is not that much significantly faster than the USB version. It is also bulkier than the USB version because of the adapter. It takes 7 minutes to transfer a 56 Mb file--not what I expect from a firewire connecting device.

Rear adaptor funky but it works . I got the FireWire version of the Zip drive.My previous purchase of the USB version has been flawless.The FireWire version is a little funky because the firewire interface doesn't look "normal/integrated", there is this funky adaptor that attaches to the rear and appears to convert the firewire to something else (looks like SCSI).The manner in which this adaptor attaches to the rear is a little precarious (looks like it won't stay hooked reliably).But I in fact had no problem getting the software to work, and the drive has not given me any problems at all.

Perfect for the college student! . Since I am getting ready to head off to college and needed a quick and easy way to move all of my files off my home computer and on to my new one, the Zip 100 drive proved to be perfect. It's inexpensive, reliable, and portable. I can't think of a downside to it, except for the fact that it slows down the system a bit while it's in use. Otherwise it's fantastic!

Reliable . The zip drive offers plenty of storage space for backing up nearly anything. I use mine for backing up all my device drivers for my computers in case I format a hard-drive or one crashes. It sure beats downloading the updated drivers all over again! My zip drive has been running for 2 years without a glitch and right now the price is very reasonable because of the 250 megabyte version which can also read the 100 meg disks. Highly recommended. Only wish the USB version was available when I bought mine:(

I've had one for years! . Imagine if you could pop out your harddrive and take it to work, then install it in your office machine and rock and roll? With Iomega zip drives, you have the perfect marriage between convenience of a floppy and disk space of a harddrive. The parallel port device can easily fit in your purse or briefcase to take to any PC with a parallel port- and hook up. I have Win311. So, it works great with DOS, Win95, Win98 and so forth.

Better than nothing . I haven't had any problems like were mentioned in the other review. I like my 100 MB Zip drive. I bought it to back up some of my files and that's what it did. I've never used my Zip drive while I was printing. It is a bit slow but so is that 3.5" floppy sometimes. It's a good thing to buy when backing up files when you're short on money. My major complaint is the cost of Zip disks.

Cons Review

Keep it moving people: there's nothing to see here . Though this is the somewhat legendary device Iomega made its fortune on, Iomega has happily moved on to bigger and better things. This is quite clearly the most inferior product still on their product list. It should be avoided by most all users. Unless you ONLY have a parallel port to use, there is absolutely no reason to buy this product. The transfer rate on this device is abysmal. I mean, p a i n f u l l y slow. It's not too much of an exaggeration to say that old floppy disk drives seem faster. It's marketed as portable, but it's not, really. Oh, sure, you can take it to another computer, unhook that computer's printer, plug it into your Zip, plug the Zip into the computer, then reboot. But that's not really an acceptable definition of "portable" any more. "Portable" means that you plug it in and GO. Plus, the standard of portability with Zip drives is now that you can share between Macintoshes and PCs. You can't with this device. It's also comparatively heavy, with bulky, cumbrous parallel cables, so that the actual carrying of the drive is made clumsy. Worse, because it's parallel, you might have to share the device with a printer. That's an ugly affair. Sharing a parallel port means you can't really use the Zip and the printer simultaneously-unless you ENJOY watching your system freeze for minutes. It's bad enough to mistakenly access the Zip drive while you're printing (pointing Windows Explorer to your Zip drive mid-print will throw your system into chaos sometimes) but it's nothing like the misery of trying to print a file from the Zip drive. Oh, you can get around it by transferring the file to your hard drive and printing from there. But sometimes you just forget-and end up smack dab in the middle of the molasses. When you get to this point, you might as well just reboot the system and move on with your life. Even people using the device for simple backup will find this printer sharing business unwieldy. If your programs are set to auto-backup and you try to print across the time of an auto-backup, you'll be stuck, at least for a bit. Oddly, the addition of the USB 100 to their product line hasn't moved Iomega to lower the price on this clearly inferior item. So there's not even a price break which might make it mildly recommendable. Just stay away from parallel Zip drives. Far, far away.

Use a USB port... . This is slow to install, dificult to take anywhere, and slow to transfer info. Buy a USB connected ZIP or better yet, for this kind of money you should be able to get a CD-RW.

Computers have a limited number of IDE devices and drive bays so a separate storage device is practical. Replaceable 250 MB ZIP disks provided vast storage in the past but are no longer the latest in storage technology. The 250 MB ZIP disk is less widely used than the 100 MB disk. Useful Data Storage and File Transfer . This is the latest version of the device that has been in use since the mid-1990s. It allows both storage and transfer and works on any bi-directional or EPP parallel port. For best results, you should run the "Parallel Port Accelerator" program when the unit is connected. Computers have a limit on the number of IDE devices, and desktop computers have a limited number of bays. The disks are easily replaced to provide vast storage within the 100Mb limit. This device must be connected when all power is off, like with a parallel port printer. Backing up a small amount of data is not a problem, but large amount of data files will run slowly. The fastest transfer is with an internal IDE ZIP device. Most printers will operate from the printer port on the back [except maybe those made in the late 1990s].

Remove the disk before turning a computer off. You should never insert a ZIP disk in the drive when the computer is off as this can cause damage. Normally, shutting down the computer causes the disk to eject. If you lose power, you must disconnect power to the computer, open its cover, and push a straightened paper clip into the Emergency Eject Hole.

The "User's Manual" warns against using the Operating System to copy a disk. Use the Iomega "Copy Machine" program. Right click on the ZIP drive to select the Iomega "Format" function. Will the data on a disk survive for over a decade? Not with some floppy disks. Few hard drives survive 10 years of daily use. All your important data files should be copied from a hard drive to ZIP drives or other media. ZIP drives, like floppies, should not be exposed to magnetic fields or high heat. CDs can be damaged by high heat. ZIP disks are reusable, replacing data does not decrease the size. A CD disk consumes space when a file is replaced. Both can have labels. Some say ZIP drives are obsolete, but not as long as it works for you. A ZIP disk has no compatibility problems between different Windows systems and computers. A CD written on one system may not be updated by a different system.
The one problem with my used drive is the inkjet printer with an IEEE 1284 cable will not print as well when attached to this unit.

Obsolete but effective . I purchased this unit to read some old IOMEGA discs that I had lying around. My original unit broke. These units are not particularly reliable and, of course, they are totally obsolete now. This is NOT the storage device you want to have unless you have legacy discs laying around. Still, this unit did the job. I'm glad I found it.

Ancient History . And does the job. The drivers for Windows ME are available on the Iomega website.

Zip Drive . I recommend this seller! They shipped the product when they said they would and it arrived in excellent condition!

Cons Review

hopelessly obsolete . USB flash drives are much faster and store 10 times as much for the same price. Remember that many computers don't even *have* a parallel port to plug this thing into.

Iomega Does it Again! . The Iomega Zip 250 USB-Powered Starter Kit is excellent and a great value. The new powered zip drive is a breeze to install. Just load the software, attache the cable, reboot, and wha-la!! The drive installed immediately on my Win98SE Gateway laptop, with Win98 recognizing the drive and loading its drivers immediately. It is intuitive to use with the Iomegaware 2.8 software (the primary zip application) and creates another drive in your computer. You can drag and drop to your heart's content! I found no difficulty with compatibility at all, as did one reviewer - but perhaps going from PC to MAC or vice versa (as he/she apparently did) does cause problems. The only minor drawback I see is that it is a little noisey. I don't even notice that its particularly slow using older zip 100 disks, but I'm comparing it to a zip 100 parallel - now that's slow! Great product!!

Superb! . I needed an external drive in a hurry, and initially turned to external CD burners. However, after reading numerous reviews across a variety of sites, it quickly became obvious that none of the external burners were up to the task. According to reviews, most of them (HP 8000 series, Iomega Predator, etc...) suffered from reliability problems, and to exacerbate the matter further, transfer speeds were reportedly slow. Hence, in desperation, I turned to other forms of storage. To my delight, Iomega's Zip 250 USB drive has performed excellently! I haven't had a chance to test out the firewire capability, but all I can say is that I am extremely pleased with its USB performance! I have successfully transferred all my files from my work computer (running on Windows NT) to my home computer (running on Windows 98), and there have been no software or reliability issues at all. Good going, Iomega! Now, if only they could pull their stock out of the pits........

Great buy . I bought one of these a few months ago, it was one of the best decision I ever made haven't regretted it. I use it with both my PC and notebook with the same satisfactory result. It's fast to the save every time, and comes with pretty imteresting tools. Comparing a floppy to the Zip250, is like comparing a 50's Studabaker to a 2001 Mercedes.

This is a great drive . I just got this drive and I love it already. It installed in seconds. Just load the software, and plug in the drive with the USB cable. No power cord needed! The drive is very lightweight and compact. I had a Parallel Zip, and this drive is MUCH faster. This is a great drive!

It's Little It's Blue and it Zips too! . I have had my USB Zip 250 for year and it is great, its easy to use and easy to carry. The USB powered drive makes it great for any PC and Laptop and can be easily removed from any PC you need to grab data. The problem with 100MB is ok but another issue might come laptop users who don't plug their laptops in. Not to mention that this drive is useless on any PC older then 4 years that lack USB. Overall a darn good product from the people who made high capacity drives so simple.

This is a great product! . It works very well and the only problem I found is that I can't perform the "one step backup" using an usb hub. I have to connect the Zip drive directly to the computer.

What you're looking for . If you need an exterior Zip drive, you've found it. This is perfect for your every zip need. It is very small- not much wider then an actual zip disk. In addition, it comes with a rubber stand that can make it take up even less desk space by making it vertical. It is extremely light and therefore portable and easily plugs into your computer with a fast USB cable. There is no necessary installation either. Also, it is good to note that this is a good MB zip drive to get for two reasons- it can still take 100MB ones (the size smaller) and there is no real need for most to get a 700 MB drive (the size larger) because if you're dealing with that much information most people would use a CD instead and it is very hard to find a 700 MB disk. Also, take into account that this is a very good price especially considering it includes 3 disks- which can run $$$ each sometimes.

Almost Great . This is a neat little drive. The only reason I got this was because the new Macs don't come with built in zip drives anymore, and I have alot of data on zips. I didn't get the 750MB drive because the specs say it won't write to 100MB zip disks, which this one will. At first I was concerned with the funny noises I heard coming from this little drive (remember, my previous experience was a built in 100MB version). It took me a while to realize these were the same sounds that came from the old drive, only much much louder. I don't know if click of death is still an issue with Zip drives, but those noises sure had me worried at first.The portability is great, not only can you take the disks anywhere, but the drive itself is small enough to be transported easily. Simply unplug the thing, and you're good to go, it'll work on any computer with a built in USB port. Compatibility is another story. I've had no problem reading and writing to Mac100 zip disks. On PC100s and PC250s, disk access is much slower. That's why this is only getting three stars, instead of four or five.

Cons Review

Zip 250 MB USB-Powered . Product worked well for about 6 months. Eventually it got slower and slower until it no longer would read any diskettes. Called the company and they said the drive was out of warranty and would cost $80.00 plus tax and shipping to fix it. I only had the drive for about 14 months and didn't even use it very much. IOMega refused to make any type of concession. Well they just lost a customer over their cheap dealings.

ZIP 250MB Starter - 3 U250 Disks not included . This starter kit doesn't contain the U250 disks (10 year guarantee), but the regular 250 MB zip disks (5 year guarantee). I am sending 2 kits back today. Iomega quit making the U250 Zip disks. Someone at Amazon knows about the problem, but the website has not been updated. Don't waste your time !

IOMEGA CDRW 650 . I recently bought and installed this drive. The installation directions were easy to follow and worked well on my non-standard pentium. Write speed is good and I could get the full 8X speed the unit is rated at. Some noise from the unit, but not bad. I have had real problems with burners in the past and this one does not seem to follow those patterns at all.

Great Product! . I just bought mine and it works great! The software is easy to install. I had to download the software updates from adaptec.com to get rid of a couple bugs, but that was painless as well. I was able to get the full 8x writing ability to make an audio cd without any errors.

Is it Windows that's causing the problems?? . I bought this CD-RW over a year ago, when I was still running Windows. It was pretty wacky then, doing all sorts of things to my discs and the OS! Dunno it that's the software or what...anyway last fall I switched my computer over to Linux and this burner has WORKED LIKE A CHARM! Linux users, note: Mandrake and SuSE both recognize this flawlessly. The program cdrecord will recognize it but won't let you use DAO ...however the app cdrdao works great with it (and it's frontend, gcdmaster)! I've burned over 200 discs with this burner I've bet and only a handful have been losers, and out of those I bet only 1 or 2 were due to things beyond my control. Cheap discs (don't get cheaper then PENGO I bet), pricey discs, all burn very well - some faster than others (the Blacks are the slowest at 2x, TDK or Fuji the fastest). I would buy Iomega products again.

Not too thrilled with this one! . This burner is rated for 8x writes, and anybody who's up on CD-RW drives knows that means it should be able to burn a full CD in about 8-9 minutes. However, this drive typically takes 15-20 minutes to burn A CD. Tried the support section of the Iomega website, but could not find an answer to this problem until I read the other reviews here at Amazon that mention certain brand media is required to write at the full 8x.Well if Memorex CD-R's isn't good enough for Iomega, then this drive shouldn't be good enough for you. My Yamaha 8x performs great no matter what brand media you use, so I would recommend you take a look at one of those instead.I think I'm really reaching here to give this drive three stars, but it does work........more like a 4x with most media. I'd probably be more annoyed if it was slated to reside in my primary computer.

A fine burner for moderate use . I've used a lot of different CD burners and several different CD-burner software packages. I use this Iomega CD-RW drive in my home computer and it works fine. There are a few cheap brands of CDs that it does not burn reliably, and occaisionally the CD burn software flakes out and requires rebooting, but frankly most mid-range CD burners I use have these same problems. I wouldn't buy it for a business that required frequent burning, but it is fine for my home use. I've used it under Win2000 for a while now.

Great CDRW . I wish I had bought a CDRW sooner. No issues installing it on my Win 2K/Win98 dual boot machine or. I had more problems figuring out what was the Slave/Master setting on the pre-installed DVD.Software is that it assumes you already had a CD/DVD. The installation program comes on CD, but wasn't an issue for me.Software included is Adaptec's Easy CD Creator 4. (I wish it came with version 5 or a discount for the upgrade I want to make Video CDs). It also comes with Direct CD, which makes a CDR/W like a second hard drive with Delete and Rename capabilities.

Cons Review

Had some problems with it.. . Some problems I had with this drive..excessive time reading a cd..sometimes it takes a minute or two for the drive to read a cd. When erasing a CDRW cd, it says erased successfully, however the files are still on the CD. And the most recent problem, when shutting down windows (xp or 2000), my computer doesn't shut down automatically due to the drive. if i disconnect the drive, then it shuts down fine. sometimes i can't even eject a coaster cd. i have to shut down pc, then start it up again to eject it.

Doesn't Last. . Good for about a year, then dies. Minimal support from Iomega, but Iomega's not known for support.

Buy it only if cheap! . It will write at 8x speed only on select brand CDR like TDK. Otherwise, EZCD software will show remaining time as 10min, but it will use 2 to 3 seconds to tick one time. I even get crazy when I have a lot of CD to burn since it takes 40 minutes to burn a STI CDR which was bought from circuitcity. 2M buffer is just half of the size than other 8x burner. Don't buy it unless it is free (after rebate) so you can use it as CDROM for your 2nd PC.
